5 Pärson Sound 11
6 The Exploding Hearts 10
7 Swell Maps 8
7 gnaw their tongues 8
9 Melvins/Lustmord 7
9 Konono Nº1 7

That must be more TNV than i've listened to on the computer. Too much! Someone posted a cool recording of a Melvins practice session on the Melvins board if you are a Melvins nerd and would like to hear it. Gnaw Their Tongues is scary.

thanks for the heads up on the melvins stuff

d/ling now.

Do television personalities have an album? They're kerrrrazy from what I've heard thus far.

I don't know :(

I got a singles collection cd off ebay cheap this week. Singles 1978-1987 it is.

Melvins practice is from 1988. Good time to be the Melvins. Not that they have ever come close to sucking, but still!

You should get

'And Don't The Kids Just Love It' by the TVP. Such a brilliant album.

it's never too much

i've been reminded of the Exploding Hearts far too many times today for it to be coincidence. i really must listen to them again before i anger the cosmos, or something.

Do it now

the cosmos is angry enough as it is :(

uhuh

1) Foals 128
2) Black Mountain 65
3) Future Of The Left 27
4) Hüsker Dü 25
5) Saul Williams 18
6) Melt-Banana 17
7) Black Flag 14
8) Fugazi 13
9) Earth 11
9) No Age 11

Antidotes is good, very catchy and everything it should be. Dunno how much it'll get played in the weeks to come though, it's very instant.

I'm getting very excited about seeing Black Mountain soon, just got their newest effort (few months late I know) and it's pretty spectacular, so much better than the first one.

I'm still infatuated with Husker Du.

Are you going to watch

thee Black Mountain at atp? I'm disappointed I missed them last time even though it was to watch Sunn fighting :(

I'm still debating whether I can afford ATP

A lot of bands I want to see, and a whole lot more that intrigue me.

Ween, Pissed Jeans, Redd Kross, No Age, TNV, Black Lips, Yeasayer, Les Savy Fav etc....

But it's £££

And I have Black Mountain and Black Lips+No Age tickets for May in Bristol.

It is £££

That much is true. I was about to moan on about Pitchfork choosing awful bands but there are quite a few gooduns actually.

If it really tight with the £££ I would save some for Supersonic. That lineup is amazing.

yeah, that was my other thought

Quite want to go to Venn in Bristol as well. Why?, Sunburned Hand of the Man, Matmos and Fuck Buttons are playing, so that's a pretty good lineup too.

and you're def right about pitchfork picking good stuff

I thought it would be rubbish as well, but the lineup interests me a lot more than the EITS one, despite there being more acts I know at Minehead...

same here

If they could send Constantines and Polvo over to the Pitchfork one that would be nice though.

Venn and Dot to Dot look good. You people from the south and your festivals :(

dot to dot?

really?

I glanced over it, and all I could pick out was Saul Williams, Chrome Hoof, CPWK and Spiritualized......

ayyye

I thought the tickets were £20 though but those ones seem to be sold out. Still, if there was a festival like that in the north east I would still go if there was more stuff tbc. We get nowt but one or two festivals with Kate Nash up here you see.

Nottingham is sort of 'Norf' ain't it?

Yeah there's actually a few hidden gems on that Dot to Dot. Had a look just now. The Ruby Suns sound pretty fun, and Dan Deacon is playing too. Venn is the Queen to Supersonic's King though.

Definitely

I hope I can convince people to go. Mainly cos Harvey Milk is playing, but there are tons of other good bands playing too. And Justice Yeldham, who if the youtube videos are anything to go by will literally be too disturbing for me to watch!

But it's spring now!!!!

...

!!!!!!!

Xasthur actually any good? Leviathan is quality.
Sort of related: Immortal are pretty damn good considering they may be the biggest joke metal band on the entire internets.

I knew you'd pick me up on that!

Alright then, May (I think). Yeah I love Xasthur, though I only have Defective Epitaph and Subliminal Genocide. Listening to those albums and The Drift has been pretty uplifting!

I've never listened to Immortal for that reason - where do I jump in?

The

only album i've heard is the most recent one (probably the worst!). The first song is stuck on top of this live video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyRZKLRzbqY

and just because it's immortal

check out Abbath's moves at 1:07.

That was a nice little shimmy he did!

I got into it actually, but by the end of the clip I felt like that was enough.

Also, nice to see the aging hippy down the front getting on the way to a nice bangover. Admirable stuff, I hope to be him one day (without the hippy bit).

Me too

except hopefully not looking like Billy Gibbons' dad.
