Battles, Dalek, Earth, Fuck Buttons, Harvey Milk, Harmonia, Oxbow, Wooden Shjips and many others you more clued up 'heavy stuff' fans will know about.
I think this could be a more affordable outing for those of us too poor to contemplate atp as it's only £35 plus whatever accomodation costs (which if you go for something like a backpacker's lodge will be next to nothing).
So yeah, who wants to do it? I am sadly in a position where none of my friends would be interested in this at all (and I'd count myself lucky if more than 3 of them knew who Battles even were)....
i am going
last time was super fun. no-one on this year's bill is quite as exciting as sunn0))) or om, but still looks pretty damn good ....
harvey milk
are better than both of them. i think this years lineup is better than last years.
^ I agree
more varied, and also a little bit more unique. I really want to see Harvey Milk and Dalek. Earth and Battles are added bonuses.
You going Jamie?
if i can find a warm floor to sleep on
and if i'm not on holiday then
I'm sure
that Grave Temple will sound virtually identical to sunn o))) live.
i haven't heard any harvey milk
so maybe .... don't know gravetemple either but that 'feat. julian cope' isn't exactly promising .... the guy is a hero but he should stay the fuck away from the stage in any capacity
did you see him at ATP?
His ending monologue was fantastic.
"Take your girl home and give her a good seeing to- and think of me while you do it"
-err no thanks, jules.
Heh
I only stayed for a few songs. He had loads of amps and the guitarist fell over, that's all I remember.
He's good on 'My Wall' though so I reckon him/Gravetemple might be canny.
I will be there.
Definitely
I think we'll have a stall again.
Is it a kissing stall?
What will a fiver get me?
Just saw this
A fiver will get you a Dananananaykroyd EP. If you come up to me and say 'I'm ClicheGuevara off the internet' I WILL give you a kiss.
a friend of mine
offered me a place to stay for this for nothing, so it might end up being the only festival i go...great price really
wooden shjips
will be good live too i reckon
and thrones
actually
Yeah I'm going to go
I'll figure out somewhere to stay nearer the time. But I can't miss this, its going to be brilliant. Thrones!!
I'm going
if you're looking for cheap places, both Aston and B'ham student halls rent places - I think
Me!
I will harass some people this week to see if they will come with me then if not probably just go anyway. Student halls sounds like a good bet.
Tickets
on sale tomorrow for £65. A bunch of new bands announced too:
http://capsule.org.uk/Supersonic/
Red Sparowes! Parts & Labor! Orem Ambarchi! Yeah, this'll be fantastic.
motherfuck that is a line up and a half now
Red Sparowes, Parts & Labour, CPWK, Rolo Tomassi, Errors, Einstellung. Osaka Invasion too! I so wanna go.
Sweeet!
Ahm gonna buy a ticket.
Cool that Cath & Phil Tyler are playing. Representing the norf-east and all that.
Judging from the internets
Harvey Milk/Oxbow are also doing Glasgow, London and one other date too. Hope this helps someone!
Fuck it, I'm going
What a bill, Bogulta are going to be brilliant.
Definitely
This is easily the best lineup of any festival this year. Earth, Battles, Red Sparowes, Errors, Fuck Buttons.. loads of others I'd like to check out too. It was great last year, just hope they sort out crowding issues.
if anyone
wants to stay at mine (~£4 return to birmingham from worcester) then i'll have a reason to go. as it goes none of my friends have heard of any of these acts. and i want to see battles/earth/fuck buttons before i die, at least.
Did anyone buy a ticket?
Is anyone actually going to go? It's not going to sell out in about two days is it?
i don't think it will
going to get a ticket this weekend though as i do tend to become a bit paranoid about these things ....
These days
it seems like all big gigs sell out in five minutes. I think it might be a 'buy ticket, find friends to go with afterwards' job.
Is there some kind of DiS trip to this?
Because I know no one who wants to commit at the moment. And I really need to see Harvey Milk. :(
i'll
join a DiS trip, if more are up for it.
Cool
i'm definitely in. Too many good bands to miss.
i want to go
...
yeah, maybe
julian cope (kinda)!
i want to go!
Just booked my ticket. Woop.
Will be first time travelling above Harrow i think. Scary. The hotel wont let me book a room though for some reason. Boo. Hiss.
Why has
nobody mentioned Earth?
I'm bloody tempted, I must say.
oops.
3 person hotel, 2 tickets and as of yet i cant find anyone to go with. yay!
me me me
yeah
also
as i am orginally from birmingham I can stay at my parents and not need to fork out for a hotel.
bonus
hmmm..
the line up IS ruddy good!
The last.fm page
claims Merzbow and Keiji Haino are playing. As well as Red Sparowes and Pierre Bastien, who looks interesting. Ticket booked anyway. Get in!
Keiji Haino?
Arrgh this looks awesome. Curse my lacklustre friends.
I am going.
Yes.
I've got a couple of Pierre Bastien albums.
I saw him supporting Squarepusher a couple of years ago. He's stuff's pretty interesting. Very unusual.
i keep going on the website..
and looking at the line up... It's looks really, really good. But I can't see me convincing any of my friends the same...
couldn't resist the line-up, bought a ticket from swordfish today
though i have no one to go with. looks like many are in the same boat... so DiStrip!
...

Also recently confirmed DJ RUPTURE feat JAH DAN, RED SPAROWES, CATH & PHIL TYLER, THE HEADS, DRUMIZE ,THE OSCILLATION and ERRORS.

Meant to say
sounds interesting, although I keep dithering because of the lack of interested people...it's too early
aaah
really want to go to this...must be the most awkward festival ever
I'm really tempted by this.
Although whether I go is dependent on how much I have to fork out for the MOT. How boring and grown up....
...
I thought this was £65. I might consider it for £35.
Hell am I gonna stay in Birmingham, though?
im having the same problem :S
The Heads
are playing too. Just gets better!
im going, again
looks cracking. But I'm finding it very hard to motivate myself to buy the tickets. £75 it comes to with all the fees added.

it would be cool if there was some sort of DiS meet up...
... we could all meet up and stroke chins (or beards) together. or compare t-shirts, that's what supersonic is all about.
...
I only have one with STINKING LIZAVETA on it in big letters :(
Not wearing band t-shirts to festivals/gigs is the way to go.
thats the probably for the best...
... as with things like supersonic, the people there are elitist fuckers. they judge you on your t-shirt, gets very old very quickly.
Really?
I'm going to wear my 'you think you're different, but you're all the same' t-shirt. It is going to blow their minds 8)
they are gonna dig my
"THE FOALS" shirt

Nice!
If only Harvey Milk were playing.
I know
that would just make the whole thing complete.
Also 'Fucked Up' have been added. Unless that's a press quote or something.
Can you
buy tickets for just Friday night? CPWK/Rolo Tomassi/Ove-Naxx/Scotch Egg/DJ Rupture/Bogulta all together sounds amazing, though i'm not too bothered about the rest.
Yes,
£15 to you sir.

i'm staying at this hostel
http://birminghamcentralbackpackers.com/
just around the corner from the custard factory. anybody else in there?
so has anyone else committed?
I am going, as are several other people off these boards. We are staying in the ETAP hotel if anyone else is in there?
Line-up looks bloody great.
I am now going to this
and will wear my OLODUM t shirst as per the above posts.
ETAP, yes!
Has anyone received their ticket yet?
Woop woop!
Woop!
I was trying to find a video clip of Richard Blackwood singing 'can I get a woop woop' but I couldn't. That's what would have gone here.
i'm so sad to be missing this
i want to go so much. money/work in the way. :(
I'm going!
havn't received my ticket yet but when i called the ticket people they said all is well and their just waiting to receive the next lot.
I'm very tempted to go
lots of bands i'd like to see.
I've got a ticket now
which is a relief. I can't wait to see Thrones, amongst other things (everything).
