What is it with the Astoria and early finishes. Grr. I did figure I was cutting it fine to catch Youthmovies but walking in the door just as the lights went up was something of a slap in the face!
got in to see them packing their stuff. Essers = not sure what he's trying to achieve. Did sound like early blur copiests and using sampled guitar lines, what's that about?
what a strange band. They're first song was one of the shittest things I've seen for a while, then they moved in to some kind of Leisure-era Blur nonsense before finishing up with something altogether different
Plus the lead singer's got rubbish hair, which obviously matters heaps
are they first on?
jeeeez
Transgressive
are really pushing that Esser kid
as is their booking agent
despite the fact he doesn't have an album or any live following...
kids ?
He's a solo artist
The rest of the dudes are his backing band.
well that was nice, wunnit?
I missed youthmovies because they were on first at Foals
Instead they had some rubbish band on :(
:(
ruddy missed them also :(
Ditto

theyre clearly going to be so. so massive
and its Esser. cos the singer/songwriter is called Ben Esser. he was the drummer in ladyfuzz you know?
but yes they'll be massive because:
they're catchy
they're dancey
the live show is really accomplished
they have good management
very, very unoriginal tho
