Anyone know if there's a way to limit the result a formula can return to a maximum and whether that limit can be defined in another cell?

There's a long way to do it using =IF and another cell, but is there a quick way?

I am prepared for a barrage of abuse, comedy answers and I'M AN OFFICE WORKER!
