Further news arrives of Neil Young’s recently-announced UK festival show this summer. His appearance at the event, branded A Day at the Hop Farm will see the sexagenarian perform at a so-called ‘back to basics’ event – free of registration and VIP areas. Hippy values rule, dude.
Taking place on 6th July at the Hop Farm at the in Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, the show has been organized by former Mean Fiddler supremo Vince Power. The live music don sold his controlling stake in Mean Fiddler – responsible for Reading / Leeds festivals among others – a few years ago and up to now has been bound by a non-competing clause as a result of the sale.
He’s back now, so expect a further rut of festivals and day events throughout the summer. Yay.
Tickets for the Neil Young-headlined event are on sale now.

he's bangin on about this being back to basics
But:
Its more of a day show for neil young with a bunch of support than a festival. It's just an outdoor show.
30,000 capacity and the only transport details are how to get there by car, and a 'dont worry its a big car park note.'
He's banging on about it not having branding...yet it is actually called (on the website) VINCE POWER PRESENTS: Hop Farm. Now last time i looked Vince Power is a brand- he owns a venue too....and it is all being branded by him.
for 49.50 (or 58 quid at see, which appears to be the only place to get tickets) The line up is going to gave to be pretty special (to sell out 30,000 tickets)
Thats not to say im anti neil young....infact i'd love to see him
i predict a really boring
support bill.
who cares
i'd happily spend a day in silence and just have neil young at the end of it

they kept their office open for 20 minutes later than they should just so I could pick up my The Walkmen ticket that I forgot I needed to pick up.
They took sympathy on my panicky last-minute phone call and for that I am forever grateful.
Not necessarily cheaper but at least they have a living, breathing office.
ps rosbeef
there are train details on there. maybe there weren't earlier
This is just a gig
I saw Neil Young at the Apollo recently and whilst he was good, he doesn't have the vocal range he used to and isn't as 'special' as I hoped he would be. 30,000 people is a big ask for someone who really has had their day in terms of performance. I think this whole 'no brand' thing is neother here nor there. No one has advertising at their gigs generally and this is just a gig.
Lets hope JayZ and DMX headline the the next day
so it's A Day at the Hip-Hop Farm.
Ok, I'll leave now.
...
...i think its gonna be mainly blues, alt country etc... all i know is that pete molinari, chris dollimore and i think maybe lupen crook is playing.
Where did you find this out Transmission?
When are the other acts being announced?
ATP
Has been brand free, VIP area free and registration free FOREVER. However, Neil Young so I'm there.
Paddock Wood train station is nearby. Even Reading is a little trek from the station.
ps
I hope Pete Molinari plays. He's amazing
might be wrong...
...my mate told me, but now he thinks he's getting confused with sellinge music festival.I'll try and find out. However as they are all local artists it wouldnt surprise me if they were playing.
Can someone explain...
how they got Shakey on the bill in the first place? What's the connection?
lots of money
LOTS.
