I'm going to watch Walk The Line again shortly. Do you have any similar recommendations of films I should pick up? Preferably not ones that'll make me want to slit my wrists (have they made a Cobain one yet??).

Thanks :)

Laugh a minute!

Ach.

I really wasn't impressed with that film. Laffs or not, it was very overrated.

I

Liked it :(

I don't know about feel good

but 24 hour party people is a must see and is pretty damn funny. And I thimk there was a Cobain one but it was shit? Could be mistaken, seem to remember Jennifer Aniston or some cunt being in it. (Not the one with Mark Walberg obv, even though she was in that one as well)

...

school of rock
empire records
wayne's world 2

i'd hardly call walk the line feel good? is it? i can't remember the ending (LOL!!)

he dies.

not in the film

i know

i was trying to be funny. and failed.

Please don't confuse

"feel good" with "shit".
Thanks hun :)

you seem to have confused shit

with excellent.

^this

:D

dude: interesting fact

WW2 actually isnt that good. 1 still rules, but 2 is flaccid liek whoah

dude

both WW1 and WW2 are the dogs bollocks, the bees knees, the cats nats, the badgers nadgers.

i say we join together

and beat alcock and mirri to death with their own shoes.

I'm shoe-less right now

alternatives pls.

nah seriously

i thought that. then i rewatched 1. still fucking solid gold.

then i watched 2. it has loads of good bits, but SO many of the jokes just fall on their ass. it makes me do a cringe

yeah 1 is better

but i went for 2 becuase it's more music related.

Isn't all of Wayne's World

just one big cringe?

exsqueeze me?

baking powder?

if you were an ice cream flavour you'd be pralines and shit.

harry (is it ok if i call you that?)

I may be a little drunk, but right now i want to marry you.

i disagree

the first one is better, yes, but the sequel still makes me laugh lots.

high fidelity?

dig!
some kind of monster

.

GHOST WORLD!

wat

I do love this film but it's not really music related is it?

it has an amazing soundtrack

and is about a girl falling in love with a man who is obsessed with the blues and coming to understand herself through listening to music?

fair enough

Almost Famous?

I dunno. I've never seen it.

I love that film.

its good

pretty shite

school of rock is on film 4 now

it really is one of the best films in history

I watched

Umbrellas of Cherbourg recently, 60's film with Catherine Deneuve where every word is sung. Quite delightful, even if you hate musicals (which I do).

Almost Famous is about a million times better

than School of rock.

Almost Famous is my favourite film.

It has been since I saw it in the cinema when it came out and I suspect it will remain so for a very long time. It's the definition of feel good. The Tiny Dancer bit makes me cry every time I see it.

I didn't really know who Mark Kozelek

was the first time I saw it, so it was really strange watching it again to see the guy from the Red House Painters. He should stick to the day job, though.

Even though it's a bit formulaic, not groundbreaking in any way and a bit saccharine, I still think it's great. Particularly the mother/son relationship aspect.

I'm Not There

Brilliant film, but, only if you're an obsessive Dylan fan so you can understand the references.

Aww.

I love Walk The Line so much. I shed a little tear.

the coal miner's daughter

tis a great biopic starring sissy spacek as loretta lynn and tommy lee jones as her husband/manager.
