of their daytime show at Ven festival and they were making this big racket fromthe middle of the hall and I thought it sounded pretty interesing so went to see their acoustic show in the evening. Was so insultingly bad. One guy was was dribblig beer on to a mic'd up hotplate and looking really pleased with himself while another guy was blowing a bit of ripped plastic bag.
did everyone start calling noise bands 'drone bands'? half of their stuff couldnt possibly be classified as drone...
this is quite sad, YS have been one of my favourite noise artists, really prolific and not afraid to try out new stuff. also really nice guys. best of lubk to them in their future projects.
tamazepam! tamazepam!
dont care.
Oh
RIP the most irritatingly pretensious band I have ever seen.
^^ amen
brother
^haha
I saw them last year
at the 'Free Noise' gig and they were pretty great. What was pretentious about them?
I saw the last couple of minutes

I left.

I think so.
I saw them at the Free Noise thing too and it was an awesome racket. Difficult to tell who was doing what though with that many people on stage.
i like how ignorant people are
when they throw around the word pretentious like they actually might know what it means.
first, spell it right.
They've released so much music
I'm not it really matters

this is true
drone bands are
ten a penny now though arent they? i love the way Pitchfork always give them 8.8 when in fact they should be like, 3.2
You're an idiot
what did this band
have to do with fabulous muscles by xiu xiu? its listed on that discog page as related works.
they made all the noise
on support our troops, oh!
thanks!
what an awesome bunch of noise that was.
oh for sure
the strings in that are fucking incredible
i could never figure out
was it a crazy sax or was that done electronically, if you know the noise i mean. near the beginning.
its a shame,
they seemed like one of the more interesting bands around. i imagine their back catalogue will keep all occupied though!
Splitting up in June,
hopefully that means their Sonar show is still on. Was pretty amped about seeing them live.
since when
did everyone start calling noise bands 'drone bands'? half of their stuff couldnt possibly be classified as drone...

:(x 30
They were at the more 'shoegaze' than 'drone'. The last album was AMAZING. Very glad I caught them at Venn last year.
yeh
i saw that one too. so strange seeing them in the dark hull of a boat on one of the sunniest afternoons of the year!
Bugger
Never really gave them a chance, but I only heard good things about them.
Shame
They were awesome. Thanks for the incredible sounds
i thought that they were one of the better psychnoise bands of recent years
they opened up the world of noise for me
so, tis a pity
for what it's worth
yeah.. just FYI.
SONAR will be the last YS show..
we're finishing up all our comittments..
and.. yeah.. that unplugged venn set was a total write off! ha ha ha ha.. man.. we've had a few successful acoustic shows, but that was not it!
