I finally investigated Dirty Projectors beyond Rise Above. The Getty Address is brilliant isn't it?
David Ackles is a 70's singer/songwriter. Sounds a bit like Neil Diamond. Elton John and Phil Collins are big fans of his. Good stuff.

Got the Glow Pt. 2 this week. It's lovely. Fuck Buttons and the new Boris are still receiving heavy rotation, on account of their general brilliance. Also bought Polytheistic Fragments by Sir Richard Bishop - I really like it, especially the long piano and sitar drone track, but I think While My Guitar... is the better album.

Darondo is an old soul/funk singer from San Francisco that used to drive around in a white Rolls Royce with his name on the plates and everything, but after 3 singles he just stopped because he couldn't be bothered. Kinda sounds like Al Green if he was into pimping.

Alex Chilton's record "Like Flies On Sherbet" is great, it's really amateurishly lo-fi despite him being pretty big news by that point and clearly into drugs in a big way.

Psycho Sin are THE most knuckledraggingly primitive hardcore/grind band ever. Most of their songs are too short for last.fm, as those 12 songs are mostly from an 88 track CD.
