Starting a new band in Brighton-Worthing area

A bunch of ideas are going round between me and a couple others about forming a band. No real serious intentions as of now, no real sound to focus on until we all meet up for the first time.
Preferably, if you're a bassist or a drummer, you'd be a little higher up on the wishlist.
Age range: 16-20 I guess but a little younger or older wouldn't do any harm.

See my music taste for a general idea on what it could end up sounding like....

ta,
Jamie.

im moving to brighton in september

and i am the megaerest guitarist ever

^ those two DiSers are cool

and I may well be moving back to b'righton in the autumn. I can hit things in time.

well yeah, forgot to say:

- no particular time in which the band has to start

- no limits on how many members either

yey

someone said i was cool

i want a band in brighton

thats reallly CUNTING loud.
nothing twee, just.... huge fuck off slabs of sound. please? :D

elaborate

are you heading more towards....
Dananananaykroyd or
Dillinger Escape Plan?

thinking

murder of rosa luxembourg, part chimp, russian circles, charlottefield.

that kind of "jazz"

you never know.

your wish could come about.
I want to get a few people to meet up, agree on a sound and try and get something started from there.

me too

lets do loud stuff.

lets!

yes

i can play drums (sort of), i'm guessing you play guitar. from your profile picture. theres already a band there.

forgot to say, once more

I'm a guitarist and vocalist/songwriter.
I don't think I'd be ideal for a charlottefield-esque band when it comes to vocals though, so we might need someone else for that.

"sort of"

^ this guy's a fucking demon. get him on drums.

ooh

can I be the Tony Wilson-esque figure of Worthing? This could be the start of something special...it's time Worthing had it's chance to blossom!

haha

this topic has been much, much more successful than I expected!

never

underestimate this place

yeah so

if you're genuinely into getting something started then give us a shout at:
jambo234[at]googlemail.com
and I'll have a talk with some other locals to try and get something going.

looking forward to hearing from you :)

this sounds awesome

can i join when i get down there?

yeah absolutely

So far I think we have 3/4 guitarists intending to join but that won't stop anything!

wow

*dream come true*

last gig i played

had 8 guitars ;)

that

is
a
whole
heap
of
guitars

...

"The Worthing Workshop was a meeting place for musicians, actors and poets. Famous members included The Damned’s Brian James, Leo Sayer, Billy Idol, Martin Quittenton (who wrote Rod Stewart's Maggie May) and Track Records' supremo, Ian Grant."

What a lovely sounding room...

Leo Sayer?

this sounds interesting!

just look at this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worthing

a lot of it is actually quite interesting...

.

"Luke Pritchard, lead singer and rhythm guitarist of indie band The Kooks was born in Coventry in 1983. His sister Emily Pritchard was born in Worthing."

thrilling.

the name

Emily Pritchard really sounds familiar...I wonder.........
