It's our choice whether to attend the festival or not, and all those that do tend to love the festival in spite of the perceived "fuddy-duddy" nature of the organisers. Count in the smaller stages and even the music side is the most eclectic of any large festival...

Demand for Glastonbury is down because last year there was shit loads of hype around it because of the fallow year the year before. It had also become part of the Slone calendar, Henley, Queens, Glahsto etc. The weather was really bad and made it an absolute slog. Those people who came in their droves last year are probably like "Oh fahck thart its too much work darhling. Let's go to Monaco instead".
I for one hope to get a ticket and I will really enjoy seeing Jay Z
