A great tune, second only to Northern Lites in the pantheon of SFA numbers.
Also a new night at The Social, starting 10th April. My Sad Captains & Strange Idols play live and it is completely free to get in.

great song
I personally think that slow life is their best though. what's with all these threads about nights at the social?
Its
a sorry tale of a luddite and a malfunctioning computer.
Once again i apologise.
some quality line ups there sir!
PWYs are especially ace..
I've had the privelege of seeing SFA play 'Ice Hockey Hair' live
as for some reason it's not a song they do that often.
Which is a real shame, as it's easily the equivalent of The Beatles' 'Hey Jude' and one of my very favourite SFA moments.
indeed
it's pretty special when they play it. i can never understand why it's not always in the set... although the night they played keep the cosmic trigger happy does top the nights they played ice hockey hair....
wooo!
yeap, Ice Hockey Hair at Glastonbury last year was sooo sweet. The sun was out. The mud was damp. Good times.
I think it's their best song!
the night looks really good! i really want to see My Sad Captains actually.
Ice Hockey Hair
for me, was SFA at the pinnacle of their career. Their best single and the most exciting period for making music.
one of my favourite choruses
EVER.
best. song. ever.
the outro chorusy bit is the best bit of any song ever.
Now that you're here tell me you're a non-believer
Oh oh oh!
:)
is that what Gruff sings?
I've spent 10 years trying to work that line out...
if it isn;t
then i'm having it.
Man, I get chills
just *reading* that lyric!
i think
it might be my favourite line in any song ever.

This was what got me into Super Furry Animals as a properly good band as opposed to over-gimmicky britpop act (I was about 12 at the time), and if I were forced to choose a favourite sfa song, it'd probably be that. Haven't listened to it in a while, though.
And it's my username. That must count for something, right?
