I can only speak for Scotland, but i'm sure it's a nation-wide epidemic. I'm all game for promoting by means of hard touring, but seriously!!
2 x Barrowland shows
3 x ABC shows
1 x Carling Academy show
1 x Liquid Room show
1 x SECC (Gwen Stefani support)
1 x Indian Summer appearance
1 x T In The Park appearance
1 x Connect festivl appearance
and now they're playing Electric Picnic, which was largely similar to the Connect line-up last year, so Scotland may get yet another show.
It's out of control!

they seemed to play london once or more a month last year
i don't really understand it?
Aren't they releasing a new album in the summer?
Lord knows when they had time to write and record it, mind.
just in time for more shows?
They also played at Aberdeen Moshulu
way back in October 2006. so that's ANOTHER scottish show!
additions to the list
welcomed.
Having to downgrade your venue sizes due to poor ticket sales is a sure sign they should fuck off for a while
because they
are a one trick pony and its not a very good trick at that..
^this
to be honest i havent given the album a chance but im sick to death of the death from above one
Money
for the wedding.

The Gossip, still touring the last album over 2 years after it's release.
it's quite hard not to see The Gossip
boom boom, tssssh!!
No, the Gossip
are still promoting the Standing In the Way of Control single aren't they?
They have other songs?
Nope
major label
touring frenzy
I saw them last year
and they had quite a number of new songs. It gets confusing because the original Brasilian version of their debut had a lot of songs that were different from the version that was released over here- and they seem to play tunes from both.
cos they can still milk it?
until the cows come home...
i love them on record but they're not really that great live are they?
Paying back
ridiculous label advance??
they played
literally every festival under the sun last summer.
Already confirmed
for Glastonbury again this year. They really need some new material.
its because
they know that the type of music they make together will only be popular for a short period of time. Bands make their money these days through live performances rather than record sales. They're not wasting time trying to write and record an album that will most likely flop by the time they get around to releasing it (because all the trendy kids who bought their first record will have moved on to whatever is 'the next big thing'). They've decided to make some cash while they still can, cause this time next year no-one will want to know. I for one, don't blame them.
I bet they don't think like that at all
Their management, on the other hand... :)
"Bands make their money these days through live performances rather than record sales."
lol
£$€
i disagree
CSS are NOT still touring their debut. if you rewind back past the
beginning of track track 1 on their CD, there's a secret track which
contains the whole of their second album, which they play live frequently.
Their second album
will bomb hilariously.
Shame really, I liked them back in 2006.
Because they can.

Because it's great...?
