that's a shame.

only been once but it seemed like a decent enough venue

My friends uncle used to own it.

Been there once, it's local to me so I'd go there more but they never play bands I want to see.

Still disappointing though. :(

Bit...

of a shame really, i'm originally from northampton and saw a few good up and coming bands there. Not to mention a few (although shit) large bands play their early shows, for example the killers, razorlight and the kooks.
the same thing happened a couple of years ago with northampton's other music venue 'The Roadmender' but that has since been re-opened so there is still hope if anyone cares...but i doubt people do

This is terrible.

I have played The Soundhaus more times than I care to remember and it is easily my favourite venue to play (and one of my favourites to attend as a punter.)

I'll definitely miss the place.

Not good!

It's a really good venue, much better than the Roadmender in my opinion! I think a lot of new bands will miss Northampton out on tours now as the Roadmender will be to big for them to play unless they use the bar in the Roadmender which wouldn't be great!

oh no!

been at uni in northampton for 3 years now and seen so many good bands there! the club nights there are ace as well, something which northampton lacks in big time! the place has been a saving grace! as someone said before though, no real music scene in northampton from what ive seen and i dont think enough people will care if it goes! the roadmenders ok, but lacks the intimacy and atmosphere of the soundhaus. a real shame.

I'm not sure I agree about no music scene.

There have been some brilliant things coming out of Northampton in the last few years; One Toy Soldier, Kapowski (rip), New Cassettes, Tanaou, My First Tooth, He Sold Space and loads more.

He Sold Space

are also RIP!

what happened to them?

...

There's a uni in Northampton?

Will they be giving Nick Cave an honorary doctorate?

I was talking to someone about the Soundy last night

As I used to work there....weird.
Think it was my favourite venue to work in, getting paid to see Jimmy Eat World was a major highlight.

Didn't they buy the Roadmender the other year...also, has the black sheep closed as well?

gutted

i went on a road trip and ended up at the Soundhaus a couple of months ago for Art Brut... It's a great place to be, gutted that soon i wont be able to do that again : (

yeah massive shame

hopefully someone will come along and save it tho that looks unlikely :(
