They have good singles
the album is all over the place and isnt anything to write home about.

I disagree.
I like the scattered-roundness of it. If they're going to try so many different things on their very first album alone, it suggests they'll be able to change well for their second album, I think.
It reminds me of Piper At The Gates Of Dawn somehow.

then decided yes, then went to buy tickets and ticketmaster is all sold out..
so don't ponder too long!

the same show, mine was in toronto)
I only heard them once
and thought they were boring, so I haven't made another effort to listen
MGMT are great
one of my fave albums of 08.
Time to Pretend
has an almost hypnotic quality to it. I put it on when Im miserable. It cheers me up about 100% of the time.
got the album the other day,
really enjoying it, time to pretend, weekend wars, the youth and kids are all brilliant.
