It sounds like the guys from Vampire Weekend got their sound by watching too many iPod commercials. EVERY song on this album sounds like an advertisement for an electronic device. I'm sorry if but I don't like to be reminded of the current trend in television advertising with every tune that comes out of my speakers.
Maybe I'm alone here.... but every song does sound like an iPod commercial. Am I wrong?
Try Born Ruffians for something similar yet 50x better.

:'(
what?!
this makes no sense. Ipod commercials are not a genre. A wide range of bands have appeared on ipod commercials from the fratellis to U2. Are you saying they sound like those bands? I thin what your getting at is they sound catchy, which is no bad thing.
Born Ruffians are in no way as good although i would find it amusing if they appeared on the next ipod commercial.

Ah hope that works/doesn't get deleted

Its because
Ipod get their commercials from Pitchfork.
The fanboys here will disagree, but everybody knows they are wrong, good observation.
p.s I dont hat Vampire Weekend, they are a good band, but american pop indie= gove us a commercial break! (Ala Pete Wentz, although he only means to break the market with the new PATD album)
i hat vampire weekend
i'll gove you a commercial break :D
I have no idea what you are talking about
And I don't think Vampire Weekend sound much like the Black Eyed Peas either.
They're virtually indistinguishable from Feist, aren't they?
And Eminem.
well you are pretty wrong
and vampire weekend- meehhh
from the 30 seconds that i saw of vampire weekend on jools holland
they are easily the worst band in history.
informed opinions rule.
They're crap
Their music fails to inspire anything within me. Their lyrics do not move me, their music does not make me think, smile, feel sad, does not inspire any physical reaction to dance. M79 has a nice melody but that's about all.
