Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has waded into the international debate on the ‘emo’ movement.
The former Guns N Roses man detests the emo scene, apparently, his unfavourable comments coming during a lament on the decline of the rock guitarist to the Daily Star.
“Rock ’n’ roll is so diluted in this millennium, you just don’t hear good solos. And I hate Emo.”
Hate is a strong word, Slash – especially in the context of the open lynchings of emo kids that’ve swept Mexico of late.
“With the exception of Jack White – who is great – the new breed of bands aren’t bringing out decent guitarists,” he said, completely ignoring my fabricated context.
Who knows, perhaps he’s read this. Slash – hates emo, loves Bellamy.
“I did a gig with Muse recently and those guys can really play. It’s not really what I’d call proper rock ’n’ roll, but they do something pretty special.”

Haha!
Amazing.

oh slash, if only you played solos on every modern track in rock music, the world would be a better place...
tool.
On stage with Bill Gates
credibility goes bye bye.
Microcore!
This can't fail to sound brilliant.
what year is it?
i'm so confused.
Slash:
I saw you on a Guitar Hero commercial, can a bad reality show be far behind?
oh, slash
it's so funny that your name is now less relevant to you and more in keeping with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_fiction
also, how really fucking weird does he look without his sunglasses on? seriously, in that picture up there he looks like the lovechild of steve coogan and danny devito's penguin. chilling.

all you slash doubters are fools
really?
reeeeeally?
yes
the man is a rock legend and an institution. He's damn right about emo - emo sucks and is for 14 year old "rebels" who smoke behind the school bike shed.
Funny, JZ ...
thats exactly whay I thought about Guns'n'Roses back in the day.
he is a
talented but useless cunt
not relevant springs to mind
He hasn't played on a decent track since appetite for destruction!!
as for 'whatever' revolver!! does anyone actually care for these??
Carlsberg don't make over the hill GnR/STP pub covers bands..............
no musical knowledge springs to mind!
whilst i agree that lumping all emo music together and saying nothing good has come out of it at all is a little narrow minded, how can you say he hasn't played on a decent track since appetite for destruction?! Are you forgetting the likes of civil war, you could be mine, don't cry, novemeber rain etc or are you simply mad? The guy has contributed more to rock n' roll than any emo band, any of us or (more than likely) any band of the next decade! His views maybe a little extreme but come on........can you even be a rock fan and not appreciate slash?
