Distortion is my first foray into the Fields. What a weird little cd. Try listening to it with headphones and panning back and forth left to right. It's total mono with everything mixed to the front just like old Phil Spector. It's got a real creepy Human League redux rehash thing going on too. I really hated it at first but it's growing on me. Are they all like this?

The album that you absolutely
have to get is 69 Love Songs. This is easily one of the best albums of the '90s. if not the best. Alot of their songs vary in style but Merritt always manages to produce a great melody whatever the style. 'i' is good too but please get 69 Love Songs, you'll be hooked for months.

69 love songs is an absolute must.
The whole album is supposed to be
a homage to the sound of the Jesus and Mary Chain's debut 'psychocandy'. So check that one out if you like that sound. Check it out anyway, as it does rock.
