No, Tom Clarke hasn't inadvertently chained himself to the doors at G.A.Y.

Remember this? Much hoo-ha was had after London mayor Ken Livingstone declared that the Astoria had no hope in hell of surviving the development of the Crossrail project, but now The Enemy have come along to mop tears/make everyone look stupid.

The band, currently in the middle of a six-night residency at the venue, declared from the stage last night that the owners of the Astoria have extended their lease by five years.

Speaking to BBC 6Music after the show, frontman Tom Clarke confirmed: "I heard the other day when we there, they've signed a five-year lease, which is quality. No doubt there will be the usual controversy in five years, but it's quality for now that it will stay open.

It's a quality venue,” he continued; “and it's a good job it's not getting shut down… so you can enjoy many more bands in the Astoria, thank God.

What sort of band?

"A bunch of working class lads belting out a tune they’re passionate about."

Cheers Tom. Back to yr castle, Livingstone.

A friend was walking through Soho

last night and someone asked for directions to the Astoria. When he suggested part of the route would be walking down Old Compton St, the guy replied "I dont want to walk down faggot alley"

Now I know who was playing, I'm not a bit surprised.

lol

he probably stopped in the Montague pyke for a drink on the way.

What a cunt

He probably

didn't leave with his personal belongings then.

Hahaha

Brilliant...

It'll probably take them ten years to build crossrail

so the astoria will be around for a while yet.

April Fool!

April Fool!

ha?

"Back to yr castle, Livingstone."

^ LMFAO! But seriously, I'm sick of hearing him talk about "working class lads belting out a tune they're passionate about." Music isn't about class, Tom, you idiot.
