I am going in August - will probably spend a week or so there, before travelling to the USA.
So, anyone that has been/lives there, recommendations would be welcome for:

- night-life (I'm only 18, what can I do?!)
- places to stay (preferably B&Bs or hostels - cannot afford hotels)
- places to eat (I will be backpacking, need cheap good places, or just grocery stores?)
- places to visit (libraries, museums, galleries, places of interest)
- inter-city travel

Thanks so much.

Not as informative as I thought, but it's a start.

The jazz bit sounds good.

Also, there's a shoe museum...!!!!

...

which is shaped like a shoebox

from what i can remember

Kensington is really good...it has lots of charity/thrift shops and food places.

Queen St West is good for shops, College Street has a lot of bars on it. Eden Centre...pretty huge shopping mall. Cabbage town is nice to walk around.

The islands are cool, if the weather's nice. CN Tower is a lot better than you'd imagine...you can see a long long way.

I went to really nice park but can't remember its name.

When i used to stay over there usually ended up at the Canadiana Backpackers...pretty cheap, nice and good location.

That's all i can think of for now.

i see that there's another thread

but accomodation - google "89 chesnut". it's a 30-odd floor building right in the city centre that was a hotel but currently serves as a student hall of residence but still pretty much looks like a hotel and they rent rooms out in the summer and it's pretty cheap and includes a free all-you-can-eat breakfast. and breathe.

if you ask me at the end of april

i can tell you, as i'm going there april 10th for a few weeks.
