Les Trois Garcons, Schwadditch if you want to spend all your savings.
Crystal Charcoal Restaurant - 522 Holloway Road. Nicest Kebabs in London, really. You won't really want to go back to other kebabs again after eating in there.
The Shakespeare in Stoke Newington, where they let you order pizzas from the place next door. Also any of the cafes up that way that do £2.50 breakfasts.
I'm by no means a seasoned foodie, but I'm enjoying eating at Eat and Two Veg in Marylebone at the moment. It's a vegetarian diner style restaurant with a menu that changes quite often and reasonable-ish prices. It would be an idea to book for the evenings though. And don't let them try and put you near the front to make it look full, booths FTW.
on stoke newington high street is great, they do some cracking turkish breakfasts and the coffee is the best i've ever tasted. shame that they charge you about 8 quid for a small bag of it if you try to buy it off them (i think they (illegally) sell if you ask nicely)
i love ...
the mexican restaurant beside the notting hill arts club.
if i had to eat there every day, i think i'd be very very happy.
i don't really like that one
i think mexicali down the road a bit is slightly better, although the beach burrito cafe was the best tex-mex until it closed suddenly :(
...
yeah its weird I mean I love the food, and there are other place round town that serve as good food, just had sme happy times in it, and like to go back, every so often.
Mexicali and Beach Burrito Cafe
are the same thing, just bigger.

some days I wish i was you.
none of them are expensive
and you really don't wanna to be me
i wouldn't wish that on anyone
....
yeah i think i'll just write them down and visit them at my own leisure.
Feeling a bit low of the self esteem today?
Belsize Park
FTW! YEAH! yeah
The Regency
What a classic. One of the few proper old style cafes still left in london.
Misato
Cheap as chips Japanese which is dirt cheap and the portions are massive, but you often have to queue like forever to get in.
how cheap is cheap?
how much is a prawn roll or salmon maki?
asakusa in camden
is pretty much my favourite i think, although that would come under favourite japanese and favourite budget.
favourite turkish: 19 numarra bos cirrik or ozlem in dalston.
pizza: italian graffiti or that cheap one on goodge st.
italian graffiti's pizza are the shizzle!
are we the same person?
they are probably my two favourites, seriously. number 19 is the best.
Freaks me out a bit. Not too fussed about Icco(?) on Goodge though or pizza generally.
haha, i don't think so
19 is amazing. the quail is just beyond anything else.
Icco is good and cheap, but pizza just pales in comparison to lahmacun from the turkish places completely.
yeah and lahmacun are normally about a quid
that is a bargain.
Not had the quail but apparantly the caborga (haven't got a clue how you spell that) is great. I like a simple adana.

the eagle in clerkenwell - nbest gastropub ever
the narrow in docklands - gordon ramsay on the cheap and a lovely setting
LMNT
It's a cheap place in hackney. Krazy decor and sexual toilet.
oh i forgot about that place. i really wanna try it out one day
looks wicked
it's great
I like sitting inside a giant cooking pot
^LMNT is lush
and you feel like you're eating in a tree house
A kebab shop
Crystal Charcoal Restaurant - 522 Holloway Road. Nicest Kebabs in London, really. You won't really want to go back to other kebabs again after eating in there.
Hummus Bros!
The Shakespeare in Stoke Newington, where they let you order pizzas from the place next door. Also any of the cafes up that way that do £2.50 breakfasts.
^ Hummos Bros, yeah!
They give you free badges too.
Not badgers, badges. Although that would be cool too.

oh! 'marylebone' reminds me of a great lil cafe at st. mary le bow church
which is in the City near st. paul's, rather than in marylebone. it's vegetarian, not expensive and is in a crypt which is pretty cool
yr mam's innit

thanks for all the replies....!
if anyone dares venture to hammersmith, sagar for a cheap and tasty s.indian (veggie) curry is well worth a visit
