all five of their albums are at least 'good'.
Yeh!!
Some cracking tunes on it, very under rated. Dope Nose, Keep Fishin', Slob, Possibilities, Love Explosion..don't know why its hated on so much. Same for the Green album...just great up-beat summer vibe. It may lack emotional depth of first two but the songs are just sublime. Fantastic pop tunes.
However, Make Believe is sinfully bad in my opinion. Beverly Hills, We Are All On Drugs and My Best Friend are close to unforgivable. The Damage In Your Heart is the only redeeming feature.
Mind you, I'll be sucker for the Red album (if that's what it's called) on day of release.
I actually
really like Make Believe.
It's their weakest offering, but I've grown to enjoy it. It took time though. Maladriot has some kick ass tracks on it, especially Living Without You which is kinda overlooked.

but also agree it is still a good album.
Yes, but only good in the sense
of "yeah, last night was good, just had a beer and watched the Apprentice", rather than good in the sense of, "bacon is so good it's freakin' unbelievable".

i didn't even know that weezer fans hated it
i love it, fall together, dope nose keep fishin, burndt jamb, december, all really good songs.
i don't really hate it
i just feel that in comparison to weezer, pinkerton and weezer it seems a bit weaker. although, it was the first weezer album i bought way back in 2002 and without it i wouldn't have bought the other albums and fallen in love with them and made them my favourite band ever.

Rivers Cuomo
is a pop genius. He has written hundreds of fucking good pop songs. Having said that, dont get that "Alone: Home recordings of Rivers Cuomo" (i forget what its called, but its pretty self explanatory) maybe i need to listen to it more, but it was a bit shite in my opinion...

It easily has some of their best songs on it, and the opening 5 tracks are amazing.

and 'Slob' is a solid song.
Slave...
...is the only Weezer song outside of Blue/Pinkerton that really stacks up IMO. And the Burndt Jamb riff is tasty. Otherwise, i'd say it's no Green, and that's not saying a whole lot.
I like it
Sure it's not a masterpiece but vastly underrated. December, Love Explosion, Slob, American Gigolo and Living Without You are pretty flawless songs.
Yes, Make Believe is pretty bad in places - as has been stated to death on this site - but it's got Haunt You Every Day and The Damage In Your Heart on it which can make me ignore My Best Friend.
This Is The Way from Alone is I think the most unforgivable creation Rivers has given us and I pray to God daily that it doesn't make it anywhere near any Weezer album any time soon.
