Saw him last night supporting Dan le Sac v Scroob Pip.
If i'm not much mistaken he was pretending to be mentally ill. That's okay now is it?
(apologies if he actually is)

Haha
er, no, he really is autistic, lovely chap too - I've played with him before, once he even drew a picture of us whilst we were playing and handed it to us afterwards! But yeah, it's a bit weird I suppose, he is trying to be funny but it always feels a bit wrong laughing at people with mental problems.
Well that is a lot better then
I thought he was autistic at first, then decided he was trying to be too wacky.
Good for him then in light of the above.
mentally ill
People at gigs is always a strange one. I went to see Wesley Willis which was sort of funny sort of entertaining for a bit then it just felt wrong wrong wrong ( so i left and went to see unwound instead which was fucking awesome.) The end.
I was about to viciously berate you
for the most uncalled-for and badly punned 6Music thread. Good thing I actually read it.
He is
actually ace, whatever is going on with him. Make sure to pick up his two Conn-pilations (I wish that was my own pun) they have some great stuff on. Having seen him a number of times you forget about what may or may not be 'wrong' with him, just the fact that he is a really funny guy and constructs songs in an interesting way.
my band played with him
last week, on friday night at the glastonbury 'music night', in pilton. it was a sort of 'best of the rest' thing from the emerging talent competition. i.e. 8 good bands that just missed the cut for the actual finals.. all the glastonbury bookers were there, and all the judges from the competition proper - eavises, huw stephens, q magazine editor etc...
anyway, gideon conn was on the bill as well, and he was amazing... real depth and versatility to everything he was doing. really interesting guitar playing and cool hip hop/folk stylings. it was funny though cos his band had forgotten their keyboards and a few amps so we had to lend some to them - you'd think for a gig as big as a glasto showcase you'd remember such things like that!
Positive discrimination ftw
i saw him
cover busta rhymes' "gimme some more" once.
it was tremendous.
I think I love him
Saw him supporting DlS vs SP too - spoke to him when he came off stage and was standing next to him while he drew :)
Saw him supporting The Ting Tings
Very good indeed, including an entirely unexpected sudden leap into a surprised audience.
