First Madonna ($120m), then U2 (undisclosed) and now Jay-Z - the rapper is expected to sign a 10-year-deal with Live Nation worth $150m.
The deal is one of those newfangled ā360ā types, taking in Jay-Zās various entertainment, management and label ventures as well as the traditional recording and touring costs.
The artist has been planning to leave Def Jam for a while now, and is set to walk into one of the most lucrative recording deals of all time, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The deal put together by Live Nation Artists is due to be finalised next week.

still has to release another album for Def Jam before he begins the Live Nation deal. And that Live Nation expect at least 3 albums from him. Pretty sweet deal? "I'm rapin' Def Jam 'til I'm the hundred million man"? Well he wasn't far off.
