Apparently Tower Hamlets council are refusing to lay on extra public transport for the event, and are refusing to lay on extra staff to properly recycle the waste generated from the gigs. Yorke's thrown a bit of a hissy fit over it and cancelled the gigs.

Environmentalism gone too far?

Where did you hear this?

I'm going to this gig or should I say was going.

Not here

Proof please?

I refuse to believe that this can be the case as Radiohead have played there in the past, and Field Day was held there last year.

Victoria Park would come under Hackney Council's jurisdiction

rather than Tower Hamlet's though? I would have thought so anyway.

no it wouldn't

...

Yeah you're right

It just borders Hackney. It must literally be the border though, as thats bloody close!

Besides, this isn't true

it's within walking distance

of Bethnal Green tube station... ain't that enough? Surely there are many outdoor concerts in much worse locations... <confused>
