http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/3127669 has given me an idea.
I need to get access to someone's last.fm account and just ramp up repeated plays of one band. Assuming they don't check their profile too often or don't know that you can trash scrobbles, this could prove to really annoy the more OCD types.
In fact, Never Gonna Give You Up would be the perfect song for this. Like an extension of rickrolling into a new domain.
Just imagine it...

Someone do this and let us know the...
HILARIOUS CONSEQUENCES!
You're
very bored aren't you fellow?
No
This is my job
That's not funny
That's exactly what my lastfm chart looks like.
Hang on i'll PM you my password
Not. ;)
So close
Yet I was thinking more along the laptop borrowing lines, or whilst staying over someone's place.
PMing me last.fm account details will also work.
Can I suggest the easiset way to do this
(after you have aquired access to a comp)
would be to rename 2 30 second songs as Rick Astley tracks, make a playlist with just these two and put it on loop.
2 scrobbles a minute, 120 an hour. 800 over night.
You can go much less than 30 secs or they don't scrobble, but experiment, you may be able to get down to 20.
I think someone is doing this to me
possibly. My last.fm keeps on scrobbling songs that I didn't play. I think it's via my Hype Machine profile, which says I've listened to Justin Timberlake recently when all I've been listening to on there is Death Cab and Yacht.
yep, already being done
