I would love to see Hreda live.

But obviously Oxford is a bit far from home...

i will be there

I think. Looks like a good line-up!

Ace. Hreda are really really good.

Looking forward to seeing em for the first time.

i won't be because i'm at home.

but i will be in spirit or something.

See you there Lewis

Been looking forward to this gig for a while now. Oxford seems to be drying up for good gigs and then someone goes and puts 3 of the best Oxford bands (and your good self) on the same night. Good times!

haha

with the exception of Efterklang the other night

which I will regret not being able to go to forever, but issues arose that were out of my hands.

Poopy

I well would have gone Lewis but I have tickets for Dashboard Confessional (for my sins). I hope it goes well!

Jag Bump.

Hi!

we have some polaroid promo's on our myspace now. my evening has been depressingly dull.

sam

looks
hot.

I think i love Gossamer Albatross more than my own mother.

I played 'Raging Bulls' to an office of forty or so people last week, a few of the more tracksuited said stuff like 'what the fuck's this?', but the more normal and knowledgeable ones, and the majority, thought it was really really nice.

awww thankyou.

We're actually recording with Hugo down in Oxford on the 18th 19th and 20th april. Get some new stuff down. it's been too long since we did it.

yay for Oxford Music!!!

I have been saying this too often recently!!! :)

stage times.

Gossamer Albatross: 9pm - 9.30pm
Theo: 9.45 - 10.15pm
HREDA: 10:30 - 11pm
Jonquil: 11.20 - 12am

I wish

gigs at the Cellar didn't go on so late. I get tired :-(

I wish

University had started a week later.

i have a day off on thursday.

how fortunate!

damn these promoters

with their 4 band bills!

i agree...

it's very inconsiderate

I disagree

4 bands are fine. Just start them off a little bit earlier so I can get to bed for 12.

you know how it goes though stu

you can't get in til 6pm earliest and with 4 bands, soundchecks, etc means not being able to open til at least 8.30 then waiting for people to turn up so even getting the 1st band on at 9 is pushing it...

you know all this!

i think

we should all take our sleeping bags and have a sleep over

strawberry cider breakfast - that's what i'm talking about!

true

I just like breaking your balls over this stuff ;-P

great

i was considering going for jonquil but they are on too late for me to get home, i think :(

Jonquil are awesome!

not so keen on gossamer but I really wish I was in oxford.

:(

tonight everyone. oxford people should totally get down to this. I'm off to shop and band practise. bye!

that was really fun.

lovely crowd, lovely venue, lovely bands. really enjoyable evening. sad we didn't get to see jonquil but I'm sure we'll play again with them soon.
Everyone else?

was an ace gig.

I thought all four bands were great- really enjoyed you lot. I love the cellar when it's packed. Jonquil were brilliant as usual.

yeah it was good

you guys were really good, especially the first song. Do you have that one on myspace? It was awesome.

I thought Theo was technically very impressive but his actual songs were rather limited by the fact that he was basically one guy trying to sound like a full band. Nice riffs but the songs didn't really go anywhere.

Hreda were quite good, a little math-post-rock formulaic at times but they held my attention and their best moments were really powerful.

Jonquil were ace, I never knew they were so good. Fantastic atmosphere too, it really felt like a homecoming show or something. Really great.

the first song is on our myspace.

it's only a really rough dictaphone recording though. we should be recording that with hugo next weekend.

it was good

I really enjoyed it last night. GA were good. I really like the latest addition to your setup. The extra violin really helps to fill out 'the sound'.

I love Theo. Sam can do no wrong in my eyes. The 'rock stance' at the front of the stage was hilarious. Love that shit.

Hreda were great. Ever so slightly sloppy in places, but still sounded good to my ears.

Jonquil were fantastic as ever. Something was missing last night that has been present in past gigs at the Cellar. Perhaps it was that there were a fair few people chatting through the set, but it didn't seem to have the same atmosphere. It was still really good though and I enjoyed watching the guy stood in front of Hugo doing 'the robot' during one of their songs.

Great gig

My work is suffering today...

glad people liked it.

I never knew how small the youthmovies drummer is. he's tiny!

nice one!

and great to meet you and the guys (and gal) lewis.

much as i hate midweek shows, that was a blinder! although feeling very tired today so god knows how i'd be if i was drinking!

anyway, good times...

Glad this went well.

Bunch of minted bands!

Er...sorry to reiterate but...

Hreda & Theo plus more in our converted warehouse (London) on Saturday. Super-cheap entry and drinks, and jolly atmosphere!
