Frankly, they are. I'm from Stratford, supposed to have some sort of local 'oh they're from round here pride', but naah.
However! The Atlantis to Interzone Metronomy remix is so ridiculously good. But that just smacks of someone coming along and making an average song great rather than any talent by the Klaxons.
On record they are fine, perhaps a bit unfairly slated
live they ARE terrible though
I enjoy Golden Skans and It's not over yet.
I haven't heard their other stuff.
agreed.
great record, really great, but fu**ing terrible live. seriously weak
hm
when i saw them in a tiny venue last year, and when i saw them in a small tent at Coachella, I thought they were good live, not musically but purely at getting a show together and getting everyone worked up. Larger venues and they are absolutely terrible, because they can't cope with the better sound.
i hate their voices.
annoying beyond belief.
Come off it...
what d'you think of the Killers debut?
Who cares?
Hot Fuss
Half good, half shocking.
jai disagree.
Singles were great, can't listen to them now. The non-singles were really good too, bar that horrible last track.
They were reasonably refreshing when they appeared
- to have a mainstream indie band who sounded neither like Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, or The Libertines, as everyone else seemed to at the time. I wouldn't go so far as to say they're dire.
On Jools
they nailed "Gravity's Rainbow"
Not
nah, unfairly rated because of hype
It's a real shame, because all the other shit bands at the time have been forgotten. It's only Klaxons that are still tarred with the overhyped period of nu-rave, which wasn't even a genre.
.
crystal castles remix of atlantis to interzone is epic, but you cant recognise much from the song besides the sirens
Dreadful
but that opinion is effected slightly by their tediously annoying fans.
Stratford?
I thought they were from London? Even though that main one is from Bournemouth.
Confused.
Stratford in East London?
As opposed to Stratford-upon-Avon?
s-u-a
Two of them are from Stratford upon Avon. Moved down to London to get their music noticed or something, the usual.
Well,
you learn something new everyday!
Their fans
almost ruined it for me when i saw them live. I'm reserving judgement on this question though until I see what they do next, Myths of the Near Future was decent, a 7/10 i'd say (best album of the year? no NME. no) but it'll be interesting to see where they go once they're without the nu-rave shadow.
dire
dire sire dire.
they brought out a cover for fucks sake. a FUCKING COVER!
They are a 6/10 band
I got the album cos it was £4 and I wanted to hear what all the fuss was about. It's kinda like the Killers debut, there's some good and some not so good stuff making a generally OK album, nothing special but a good listen every once in a while.
fuckin uber gash
Dire
i think i only like golden skans
and nothing else. They have a lot to answer for with this Nu Rave nonsense.
no rave
ftw
Klaxons- who still cares?
