i had to laugh when Emily Eavis said the weather was nothing a pair of wellies couldn't sort out, then it cut to someone using an outboard motor to get around - great to see the section on Peelie - #salutes#
who? Doves? they're mostly dire- there was one shot of a guy in the crowd clearly too stoned to know just what the hell was going on - it's nice to see that all the water in the world can't wash the drugs out of the place...
Everyone seemed to be sitting around waiting for them to play 7 nation army, and they insisted on playing overly long protentious stuff presumably from their new album.
I think Jack is halfway through his 13th guitar solo.
I don't quite get why they've got such a huge following.
quite enjoyed the stripes
how'd he do that on/off thing with his guitar?
did he invent that?
they just showed MIA
that was awful,like a kind of mumbling i'm gonna do r n b
for me school poetry project innit? rubbish
I thought he would use a on/off switch, like morello, greenwood and bellamy but i think he just played it as stacato as fuck to get that effect, that's what it looked like anyway.
But no, he didn't invent that.
christ. i thought i couldn't hate nigel kennedy anymore but i've been proven wrong.
nice to see bloc party's vocalist smiling for once.
oh look, a 'you are here' flag. i see what they've done there.
and finally: hahahahaha, you're all sodden and probably choking on your shitty overpriced mushrooms while i'm here with a cup of tea and some malt loaf. thus, i win.
best flag/banner i've seen at a festival said 'i love myself', considering it was a young kid who came up with it. still doesn't beat the 'i kill cats t-shirt' i spotted at reading once.
does it ever seem to anyone that jack white looks like he's going to kill meg if she fucks up - the way he keeps looking over as if to say 'bitch, don't ruin the ending of this song'. s'all dressed up as are they brother/sister or lovers - no really its a torvill and dean relationship, maybe
im not gonna argue ... of all the six bands they seemed to show last night the killers and bloc party were probably the most entertaining.
the pixie character in bloc party seemed to have guitar trouble during every song except the pioneers but it didnt damage the performance at all.
anyone else notice that they showed the same songs from the same sets all bloody night - doves, babyshambles, killers over and over ... come on bbc theres tons of bands on this weekend try and show some more of them!
Anyone see K.T. Tunstall's BBC2 live set? She really impressed me, especially as she was experiencing technical difficulties left, right and centre. I wasn't a fan before but I might get the album on that performance.
Fuck me- I just saw the pictures of Glasto in newspaper - all the tents in the family area are submerged in about a foot of water from pitching up near a river, and someone woke up "floating" on their blow-up lilo. Plus the typical pictures of the mud-lovers. I'm actually glad I didn't go now, for me that would ruin alot of the fun and festival atmosphere.
I'm quite shocked. Every act I've seen (that I quite like) have been excellent. Interpol were brill, despite Banks' weak voice. And surprisingly, I thought Keane were great. I know they're fat and uncool bla bla bla, but they did an amazing set.

I've had a running commentary from a DiSer - lots of water, boats and cows?

You should see it. There are police here. There were loads of wankers battling for a pair of wellies from the shop.
My pal and I found a mobile ( :D ) floating in the river!!!... unfortunately it was fucked... ah well!
Just about to watch J + M, after the schmillers have fucked off.
I hope my battery doesn't run out!

On another note, I enjoyed New Order's set.
