bands that you think would fit together nicely even if it wouldnt be the right thing for them to be scene to do ... yknow, bands that shouldnt really be able to fit but you reckon they could.

+bloc party & yourcodenameis:milo - seriously, listen to them, i mean really listen...it'd be a really good show!

Re: bands that should tour together

er, bloc party and milo where touring buddies for most of last year!?! I saw Bloc Party, Milo and Kill Kenada at Brighty Concorde 2 twice and BP, Milo and Modey also. Obviously BP are way too big for the likes now tho...

Re: bands that should tour together

really ?
when abouts last year ?
they didnt come anywhere near here...ycni:m and modey didnt tour with bloc party did they ? modey lemon were the support for ycni:m's headline ignoto tour

Re: bands that should tour together

I nominate The Killers and The Bravery. That would be funny...

Re: bands that should tour together

Rolf Harris and Raging Speed Horn

Re: bands that should tour together

I saw BP, Milo, KK @ Concorde2 once in Feb 04 and in May/April (around then-ish). The three bands where pretty tight with eachother at thatstage. BP where supporting (or not headers) for the date in Feb (with Milo lining) and all i remember of that was Kele's voice was terrible!! Kill Kenada put on the best show of those two gigs, and its a mystery to me why they aren't still at it right now?!? The next show i saw however, was a vast BP improvement, Kele's voice didn't pierce my ear drums and it was around this time when they starting getting media attention.
yeah ycnim did support bloc party for 2 mini uk tours in 04, im not sure about Modey supporting BP for any length on a tour but they def played at least a few show with em!
Modey Lemon are so grass roots still they will support anyone: Gin Palace european, more. They play glasto's third stage today i think!! BBC3 is on lock....

Re: bands that should tour together

Think you wrong Ralphy, the first time Bloc Party played the Concorde 2 was either last August or Septmeber, don't know who was supporting at that gig though.

Bloc Party played the Zap Club a few months before that though, think it was in June as the world cup was on,
with Kill Kennada and Komakino. I was running the merch stall for that one.

Re: bands that should tour together

erm, you are challenging me Nathan?!? Well, after trawling the past gigs section on the BP site it only has one Concorde 2 date down (which i know wasn't their only one in 04)

October 10th, 2004 Brighton Concorde II (was the secon Concorde gig i went to, with ycnim and kill kenada support for sure!!)

but id be prepared to bet a sum that they played that venue (2nd headlining to Milo with KK after..) i estimate this must have been around March/April sometime!!?!? Could check with the venue, but i canny be assed...

Re: bands that should tour together

yeah - April 5th : BP, Milo, KaitO and Kill K

for real!

Re: bands that should tour together

shit! wish I had known about that, really like all those band's, would have gone. Look's like it would have been a really great night.

I think that Bearsuit and The Research should do a tour together, could be interesting.

Re: bands that should tour together

got any The Research you could send my way?? Seen their posters up at pratically all the venues i've been to recently?! still haven't made the effort tho...

Re: bands that should tour together

unfortunatley I haven't got any either, Im after some myself. There's a video in the news section of their site though.
Can't wait till 27th July though, The Research, Mystery Meat and Beverley all playing at The Luminaire, Should be a great night.

Re: bands that should tour together

AWOOHGA!! gonna be ACE thats for sure. 3 days before mine bday as well = extra alcohol intake! canny wait.

Re: bands that should tour together

that bloc party show was supported by Mystery Jets and Riff Random. and i did the lighting. and my hat got stolen. and my camera. and i got peeved.

Re: bands that should tour together

I saw that lineup at Lock 17 in Camden Taaahn. Lovely gig.

Re: bands that should tour together

i did lights for mjs that night too. w000p for me.

Re: bands that should tour together

Yeah, but the two bands never toured together. Bloc Party's June 04 dates had Komakino as tour support, they just played with other bands here and there.

Kill Kenada put on the best show of those two gigs, and its a mystery to me why they aren't still at it right now?!?

Last I heard they were off recording their debut album with Steve Albini. They played a few dates earlier on this year - they lost their drummer, and booked a five-date tour prior to starting recording to break the new drummer, but cancelled three/four of the dates after they got a right slagging after the first gig. This was back in March.

No idea since then, though. Last I checked, their official website was dead as well.

Re: bands that should tour together

They're website has been taken down (redirected back to the server?) - I can only get info via their messageboards which I have difficulty locating now...? I wonder why Stuart left the band? he was an ace drummer.

Re: bands that should tour together

I'd pay to see Arcade Fire/Johnny Boy/Graham Coxon on the same gig bill. Not really a link between them but if anyone could arrange it...

Re: bands that should tour together

I'd like to see Low and J & M Chain tour together.
That might have been quite conflicting...

At the moment, Marissa Nadler and Magnolia Electric co would fit really nicely.

Re: bands that should tour together

when the Icarus Line played with Dillinger Escape Plan around the time of Irony Is A Dead Scene, that is my favourite tour ever. They should tour again.

Re: bands that should tour together

ymss + 65dos. its been done like five times but you are guaranteed an unforgettable show.

Sennen + EITS

Blood Brothers + Sikth- Tho it might be too much.

ASMZ + Dirty Three + Low- Couldnt get any better

Re: bands that should tour together

they already have but I think blood brothers and help she can't swim should tour again. I missed em the first time and cannot forgive myself

Re: bands that should tour together

If I had any the dosh, I'd be off to Portland, Oregon next month to see:

Say Anything - ...Is A Real Boy is a genius album
Emanuel - they might not be rubbish
Circa Survive - proggy emo nonsense - very good from what I've heard so far
Ever We Fall - ooooh, catchycatchycatchy

Other than that, spunk would be spilled if Jetplane Landing got together with The Robocop Kraus.

Re: bands that should tour together

i'm still crossing my fingers for a Tool/Isis/Mastodon/Neurosis touring circus

Re: bands that should tour together

Bloc Party and Pretty Girls Make Graves would be great, though I think that's happened, or will soon.

Re: bands that should tour together

yeah the Bloc Party / Pretty Girls Make Graves tour has already happened, there (bloc party) next tour is with Patrick Wolf and Kaito :-)

Re: bands that should tour together

I think Patrick Wolf and Bloc Party is a bit of a mis-match to be honest.
I love both, but I can't see many BP fans being too keen on Patrick. Kaito are a much more fitting choice.

Re: bands that should tour together

Artic Monkeys + Bromheads Jacket

Re: bands that should tour together

Dead Meadow + Six Organs Of Admittance + Comets On Fire - that would probably the best gig ever.

Explosions In The Sky + Godspeed You! Black Emperor - I would actually cry with joy if that ever happened. My two favourite bands on one bill.

There are a couple of line-ups which have been perfect though, even if the bands weren't necessarily similar in sound.

Dillinger + Cult Of Luna + Mono - fuck me, how can that not be amazing?!

And I can't believe I missed The Shins play with Autolux at The Garage.

Re: bands that should tour together

Akercocke + Deicide + Mystic Circle + In Aeternum

Fuck i'll miss that

Re: bands that should tour together

erm, Ghostface killah + Ty + kano

Re: bands that should tour together

Roll Deep and Heartless Crew?! <i dunno what that means tho.

Re: bands that should tour together

Arcade fire, mars volta with willy mason as their support/roadie.

More suitable together though: Broken social scene + Rilo Kiley + Bright Eyes + Postal service, it would make for a night of very beautiful music.

Re: bands that should tour together

redjetson + mono + sigur ros

blood brothers + xiu xiu + arcade fire

stars + broken social scene + do make say think (probably happened in canada)

Re: bands that should tour together

Most Serene Republic + Stars + Broken Social Scene would get me excited, but so would just BSS and anyone.

But they're all on the same label, so I wouldn't be suprised if it hasn't already happened.

Wolf Parade should tour with arcade fire and modest mouse, that would be cool.

Re: bands that should tour together

I agree with you but i prefer something like that:
godspeed you! black emperor + Siver mt. Zion + do make say thing

or imagine this: Pink Floyd + King Crimson (at this time were Island came out) + Can

Re: bands that should tour together

Old Man Gloom + Isis + Pelican + Red Sparowes

damn that would be good, its just a shame it will never happen as old man gloom, dont tour, (well they give about 3 shows in LA when they release albums apparently, but thats it)

Re: bands that should tour together

I'm annoyed that Oceansize and Pure Reason Revolution only toured together up north!

They would be an awesome combo to see live, though not too different from each other...

Re: bands that should tour together

brian wilson and wolf eyes

Re: bands that should tour together

tupac and elton

Re: bands that should tour together

Well, exchange them for Jesu then maybe?

I'd like to see Andrew WK do more stuff with Wolf Eyes.
