and i love love love carrot and swede MASHED.
and we have some left over from a 'root vegetable selection' bag we bought for our last roast, but NO SWEDE!

so i was thinking mashed carrot is probably pretty boring?
anyone got any yummy mashed carrot recipe ideas?
d'ya reckon if i chopped up some garlic and shallots and maybe even mashed a bit of potato in, that that would be proper buff and chefsy? or am i just being silly?

yeah, so.
yeah?
or no?
or ideas?

how was your day?

Just so you know

Potato and carrot mash is an ideal accompaniment to white fish. And it looks good.

what for a bit of flavour though?

i suppose a bit of sea salt will do?
my boyfriend only likes battered fish, the cretin

I only like carrots

julienned and fried in sugar. Sugar = yum.

in your ears

that sounds really nice.

although, I'm going to buy some swede now and have carrot/potato mash & mashed swede with pork chops and yorkshire puddings. mmmmm. hungry now.

mmmm

you must have gravy with that!

absolutely!!

the red tub of bisto kind of gravy :)

Do you have Honey?

Do them in a roasing tin with a bit of that on and they will taste super.

i dont like sweet tasting savoury stuff though im afraid

sounds lovely in theory though!

Sad times!

Hmm, I appear to be all out of carrot recipes!

i was about to suggest this

it's amazing

it really is..

*fried in sugar

Potatoes

Sweet potatoes
Swede
Parsnip
Celeriac
Spring onion
Butter

Combine any of these ingredients in some mashing incident with some sausages and red onion gravy thicker than my face and you'll have the best thing ever.

yeah about those carrots, yeah?

can you get rid of them, i keep getting carrot envy everytime i go out the back, it's just not fair, REALLY not fair :'(

or you could

mash them with parsnip. Thats a winner
