Anyone know what a good delay pedal would be that costs £60 or under? I'm looking to invest in one soonish as the amount of sounds I can make without any pedals on my guitar is rather limited...
sounds really crappy and muddy,
DD3 is sooooo much clearer...
but then again , maybe you need a stereo amp for a DD6?
For the short time I had mine before i returned it, i used it with a single speaker amp...
but I own a Behringer DD400 and it definitely cost under £60 quid. Its pretty basic but it does a job. The experts on here will know more but just putting one out there for you, my guitar playing is'nt great so its perfect for me. Good Boss and Ibanez pedals will be pretty expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.
I'd say avoid Behringer pedals. The switch on my DD-100 broke, so while they're cheaper, they might not be the best option. If you can wait, the DD-7 comes out soon, so DD-6's and 3's will probably go down in price. DD-7 looks pretty sweet.
a Guyatone MD3 which set me back about £65 but it was ex display. Great pedal, the reviews on harmony Central sold it too me and I'm very pleased. I've also just got a Metal Muff which is ace! Now I need a POG!
Been meaning to get a delay pedal for a long time, so when I saw this, I couldn't resist. No idea when it'll arrive though, release dates are sketchy and the supplier just says 4-6 weeks at the moment which I'm guessing is a generic "in the future" type estimate.
If you can afford this, it is totally amazing. Has tons of delay and echo models. Plus it has a great loop sampler, which with the delay allows for layering epic post-rock sound walls in seconds.
I'd go for the Ibanez DE-7, it sounds good, has a nice tape echo sim, and self-oscillates. I think they're quite robust as well, which is usually an issue towards the cheaper end of the market.
Just something which'll give me a couple of seconds delay and is robust enough to gig with, anything extra is a bonus, but I'd rather have something which just does the delay really well without all the other stuff atm.
try a second-hand DD3, or maybe one of those guyatone jobbies (md3?). there was a digitech DigiDelay thing released a couple of years back which should be good. or if you actually want something decent, you can SCOUR for a deal on an old boss DM-2/DM-3.
Try eBay
you might be able to pick up something for around that price.
What make would you recommend?
I was thinking a boss or ibanez one, but I'm really not sure as to which one would be best.
if youre talking boss/ ibanex
boss. DD3 or DD6
the line 6 echo park is great but might be over budget (worth a look)
DD6
is 120 new! Maybe get one cheaper on the 'bay. THey are fucking great though!
DD6

DD3
its really durable and you can do a surprising amount with it!
boss ps2
older model, but has pitch shifter built in. for extra fun
got mine for 50 on ebay
I am no expert

On that note

Looking at prices and actually what I'd need
I'm probably gonna go for a DD3, seems reasonably well priced and should do what it is needed to.
my friend
has a DD-3, it's a decent wee pedal. I'd say go for that!
And I'll nick my mates blues driver
until I have the money to buy myself a big muff, I'll be sorted haha.
got my big muff in the post this morning
YUM!
OOOOH
You tried it out much? Tell me bout it please!
I just took delivery of
a Guyatone MD3 which set me back about £65 but it was ex display. Great pedal, the reviews on harmony Central sold it too me and I'm very pleased. I've also just got a Metal Muff which is ace! Now I need a POG!
I was going to ask the same question
Would anyone recommend this?

EH pedals tend to be pretty great, not too sure about this though.
The DD-7 looks amazing. Any idea when it will be available?
This vid might be handy
someones putting a #1 Echo through it's paces http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59cadch9RzU
also, try looking at the user reviews over at harmony-central, I always find them a massive help.
I've ordered my DD-7
Been meaning to get a delay pedal for a long time, so when I saw this, I couldn't resist. No idea when it'll arrive though, release dates are sketchy and the supplier just says 4-6 weeks at the moment which I'm guessing is a generic "in the future" type estimate.
Line 6 Echo Park
Get one on ebay innit
tap tempo and a few different cool effects too
That's if you can't afford a space echo, echorec or the like (mmm gear porn feelings)
I hear you can't daisychain them though
and need a funny adaptor. Non 9v pedals are a pain!
Line 6 DL-4
If you can afford this, it is totally amazing. Has tons of delay and echo models. Plus it has a great loop sampler, which with the delay allows for layering epic post-rock sound walls in seconds.
save up and get an electro harmonix deluxe memoryman
it is the greatest thing I have ever bought. Analog delay ftw!
Under £60?
I'd go for the Ibanez DE-7, it sounds good, has a nice tape echo sim, and self-oscillates. I think they're quite robust as well, which is usually an issue towards the cheaper end of the market.

The digitech digidelay is also quite nice, that's a little bit more, but the reverse delay sound is ace for soundscapey stuff.
What kind of sounds are you hoping to get from it?
Something pretty simple
Just something which'll give me a couple of seconds delay and is robust enough to gig with, anything extra is a bonus, but I'd rather have something which just does the delay really well without all the other stuff atm.
I'd go for the ibanez then
or have a look around for a used boss dd-3 / dd-5.
I love that pedal
both the bassist and violinist in my band frequently steal it from me!
I can recommend a Digitech X-Series Digital Delay
Not under £60 but well worth the £90ish it does cost.
you can get them for under 60 on ebay
i have an xdd
i love it, but i use it mainly for short loops rather than delay
pish to the dd6
try a second-hand DD3, or maybe one of those guyatone jobbies (md3?). there was a digitech DigiDelay thing released a couple of years back which should be good. or if you actually want something decent, you can SCOUR for a deal on an old boss DM-2/DM-3.
I'd go for the Line 6 Echo Park too
An ex-bandmate had one, it was very versatile. Made some ace noises.
I'd go for a DD6 aside from that. The warp knob does some great stuff.
The MXR Carbon Copy Analog delay
http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=xJPde-C28iU
A little expensive but BRILLIANT.
if you just want a simple delay
and don't need tap tempo, then get an ibanez de7 from ebay. cheap, sounds great, and can be made to self oscillate.
Rocktron Short Timer
Pick one up for like £30...originally intended for 50s surf delay and echo, but makes some really lovely warm sounds as well.

I'm selling my DD3
IBanez DE7
is the best delat I have, and can be gotten for around that price. After I bought it, I regretted having bought any Boss Delays because they suck.
The digitec one
is immense. Dearhunter all used those for their 'crypograms lp'. Even on the vocals. It's very versatile. Pay that bit more. Or go second hand.
shit loads
of delay pedals out there, most people tend to go for the Boss DD range, try the Digitech stuff to.
