Hello, I have tended to lurk in these parts but thought I'd put my head above the parapet as it were...

Of Montreal, I'm From Barcelona, Chrome Hoof, Two Gallants, Blood Red Shoes among others are playing Les Nuits Botanique in Brussels on 9 May. For 22 euros this sounds mighty tempting so I'm considering hopping on the Eurostar. Was wondering if anyone has been to this before or knows anything about the venue? I'm not feeling awake enough to try to tackle the French-language website so any thoughts would be appreciated...

it's

more of an arts centre complex really - a lovely old building with massive gardens, and a number of different venues. I've been to the 'rotunde' venue - you know it's a bit special when you're walking down the corridor and you're surrounded by amazing plants and ponds with fish in. It's definitely worth a visit...

Oh

and the venue itself was lovely. A round amphitheatre style room with a massive stage - your gig may be in another venue though.

.

yeh i used to live in belgium and went last year....it is an incredible line up this year...xiu xiu, why?, explosions in the sky, eluvium, dirty projectors, noah and the whale, most serene republic and health as well as the bands you mentioned

the venue is really beautiful aswell - it is basically a botanical gardens with three relatively small venues in it.. it is like 30 seconds from the botanique metro stop aswell...

for the price - it is pretty excepetional

Thank you both for the advice.

Sounds like it's in lovely surroundings and well worth the trip. And as a bit of an ecology geek the botanic gardens sound right up my street.

You're right, several of the other days look excellent as well, would love to go to more but think I'll have to restrict myself to a bit of of Montreal-stalking, night or two in a hostel and some sight-seeing/beer-sampling.

Any other Brussels-based recommendations for things to see and do?
