i bought tickets with not looking at the line up, any one else a little disappointed?
I know there will be more additions but.... i would like to see converge, weezer, youthmovies, battles and future of the left added please. what would everyone else want?
doubt it
but Brand New.
Manchester Orchestra and what you said.
The bands announced at the start are never great anyway.
^^ this
the line up always gets better. thank god tbh
what would everyone else want?
You to use your money more sensibly in the future, keeping it in your pocket till you know that someone you like is playing!
i would like to see converge, weezer, plain white t's
glassjaw, all those other bands i want and then to still be alive for RAGE AND 'TALLICA!!!!
I'm pretty please with the line up really
Metallica are there and that's good enough for me.
I'd like to see Weezer again. And Hundred Reasons and Frank Turner are always good to see.
From what i've heard
Weezer suck live?
They were great on the two occasions
I saw them (both in 1995 mind!), but, pulled out of the two dates when I was due to see them in 2001 after their triumphant return.
By all accounts sometimes they put in a bit of a half hearted effort with Rivers playing the whole ironic rock star role........
I've only seen them once
and they were really good. They played all the songs you'd want them to play.
Would be good to have The Breeders
others who I would like to see playing (who there is a chance of having on) would include The kills, Fiery Furnaces, !!!, Yeasayer, Twighlight Sad.
I hope that at least one of those headline on another stage as well, as the other headliners don't really excite me. Would have been good to have someone like Hot Chip headlining the R1 stage but they won't be playing now as they're at V.
!!! were ace last year
Really want to see them again.
^this won't be happening now
!!! have announced some US dates around then. Boo! And yes they were awesome last year.
bitch please
the reading lineup is never truly exciting until the nme and carling stages are announced in full.
fingers crossed
for The Breeders, would like to see Mountain Goats and MIA on there too
*tuborg
from one shit beer to another...
tuborg is much better than carling
agreed...
Last year I spent almost all my time in the NME tent. Ash stole the festival, but Biffy were a close second. Couple in the Carling (notably Bloof Red Shoes and Cajun Dance Party) were right up there as well
Oh don't act so surprised
of course Reading/Leeds has an awful line up. It's the music festival for people who don't like music.
^^^
self-righteous wanker
Weezer
Won't be playing will they? They'd have been announced already - bands of their stature are always announced first. There's usually a "special guests" slot on one of the days, but not this year. Which might be a good thing, because I was convinced it would be Weezer one year, and it ended up being Placebo. Fuck. Right. Off.
Erm well no, it's true.
That's why Leeds and Reading are full of so many cocks- people go "for the crack" not for the music.
converge won't play
bet ya
You never know what the lock-up will yield
it's a long shot, but it could happen
I'm hoping for (on any stage) The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Circa Survive, Poison the Well, The Bronx, Reuben, Converge, Fuck Buttons, Anathallo and Idiot Pilot.
that would be pretty decent
i expect gallows will headline though?
Yeah
probably. as long as Gallows is the alternative to the killers, i'm down with kids on that one
^if the lock up looks ANYTHING like that
it will make my year
yeah, i was thinking
the same. Grabbing a ticket off eBay could be on the cards if the smaller tents get decent line-ups.
You won't catch me camping though
yeahhhhh camp :)
come camp with me we can rave it up on the night!
majorLOL
at the comment above saying
"of course Reading/Leeds has an awful line up. It's the music festival for people who don't like music."
how were 65dos?
if the lineup becomes
worthy of my money-parting and i go, i shall pop by to play on many occasions, but i'll be running back to get showered etc before i'm seen in any arenas again. I like cleanliness to much, i get huffy otherwise.
65dos isn't til 29th, it was Portishead on Saturday (amazing!)
And Poison The Well? I only went and missed the Glasgow show :(
have you seen them before though?
this was my first time seeing them (PTW im talking about) and they were absolutely stunning.the sound was incredible (we were stood at the back didnt want to get sweaty)
Alas not
missed them when they played last year too. Booooo.
Ah well, they'll be back, Arnie-styleeee.
Gutted you had to go to Fibbers though. My sister lived in York for 6 years and showed me it when i was down. The word 'dive' doesn't even scratch the surface, eh?
haha i know
its such a shithole.in contrast to the town (york is a town isnt it?) which is one of the prettiest places ive ever been.granted im not well travelled but it is very picturesque
A city, buster.
The minster is a cathedral (or so i am to believe). I wish i were in York right now instead of looking out my window to the beautiful(ly industrial) SECC :(
York is a city
and Posion the Well were fucking bliss! I also apologise to any one there, I was the guy at the front head banging too much, although not that fat manchester guy who stage invaded and tried crowd surfing, he was a hoot though.
the guy who kept getting up and hugging the singer
was hilarious!
He was a fucking dude
He was from Manchester and tried to start a fight with the guy in York's Yummy Chicken.
I wish more people would stage invade at Fibbers, they're meant to be strict on that shit, but they don't really care (or they couldn't see him, haha)
Don't get one off ebay
well not now anyway. They will release some on the day and will also have some on the door. Or if you do ebay wait until close to the time (when peole have their tickets delivered) and you can probably get one for less than cost price.
*they will release some tickets when the other stages are announced
totally.
i don't bow to touts, but thanks for the heads up.
the bronx
played last year, and they have a policy that they dont have the same band on the same stage two years in a row, IIRC.
i say
THE BRONX 4 THE MAIN STAGE!!!!!!
i hate the main stage
at Leeds. Not necessarily the lineup (though oftentimes this contributes), but it's too vast and overwhelming, i think bands lose alot (e.g. Dillinger Escape Plan, Amen, Slipknot, Vex Red, whoever else i watched there in 2002)
S'all about the tents - Alec Empire & Apehx Twin were beastly that year
Dillinger, ETID, PTW, Circa Survive are all rumoured
so that'd be nice
i reckon they are all quite likely
looking at past line ups anyway
but ETID and Circa Survive have never played, i'd love it if they did
but what about the past makes them likely?
Every Time I Die
have their new record out, which means possible festival appearences to promote
Circa survive...touring their latest record, just done two UK tours, maybe they're down for their first major UK festival appearences?
HOPE FUCKING SO.
In the past
the lock up has put on good bands, those are good bands, hence they're playing.
you must see the awesome logic in this.
you will learn.
