from interview down there >
It feels like you’ve been away for a while – does it worry you that you’re going to come back and the climate for bands has changed? Acts like Foals or some math-rock band are cool now…
"(interjects hastily) Foals aren’t math-rock though, they’re not, and it annoys me when people say that. For fucks sake! Don Caballero, Shellac, you dickheads! It’s just syncopated notes, not math!"
FIGHT!
he's right..
...and foals are fucking crap too.
he does have a point...
slightly immature way of getting his point across, though.
lol
k?
that's as much as everyone else on these boards have said.
what do you think his username is?
thing is
its always cringeworthy when bands, foals included, try to crowbar 'seminal acts as influences' into interviews to so as to appear that bit more unique and esoteric.
Its lazy and, more annoyingly, boring.
There is
definitely some math bits on Foals album though...
where's the controversy?
He doesn't diss Foals directly, just people that call them math-rock. Or do they call themselves math-rock? If they do, then he's right, they're dickheads.
i'm bored now
it seemed such a good idea at the time.
now i'm more sober and we've all learnt a valuable lesson.
i'll listen to sleeper for a bit
plug in some Lush
you deserve it
