What's that film with Billy Bob Thornton and 'Hudson' (er, Michael something) when they find all them spends in an aeroplane?
Maybe this chap saw that.
pretty good film. very fargo/coen brothers influenced. which probably explans the post about "no country for old men" a wee bit further down the thread.
still regarded as stealing. The is no law to say someone has to protect their property so if they choose to store it on the street the only people who can take it are the police or someone who is going to give it to the police as lost. If you hand it in and it isn't claimed then it will be given to you after a certain period I think though this may be TV lies.
i would keep it. I'd give some to close friends and give some to charity, and sort out my parents debts...the way i see it if i found that much that money was meant for me. If i lost that much money then i was meant to lose it.
probably makes me a cunt, but yeah...that's what i'd do.
you can hardly take it along to your bank, nor can you go and buy a house and pay with cash. It'd have to live under your bed, with you cramming as much as possible into your wallet every morning
An old friend of mines dad found nearly £80k once and handed it in. He was a security guard though and it was from a robbery on the company he worked for.
instinct says to keep a bit and hand the rest in, but if $160,000 is reported missing/stolen and you hand $140,000 in, Questions will be asked...i'd hand it in
will this be the last time he does
the 'right thing' ?
i found £100 and handed it in
i got no reward, just a letter saying thanks, you are trust worthy. :(
.
a good deed is it's own reward
I actually would do the same
if it's that much money, I would feel so guilty for the rest of my life.....
1) hand it in?
2) keep?
3) charity?
4) split between 2 & 3?
I'm going for 4 I think.
i'd still feel guilty with (4)
but i think i could live with the guilt
me too

"a simple plan"
pretty good film. very fargo/coen brothers influenced. which probably explans the post about "no country for old men" a wee bit further down the thread.
This is
$140,000 dollars are lost then someone is likely to report it and if your found with it you could get in all sorts of problems.
yeah
the idea is not to get caught duh! The bills are unmarked. Dont tell anyone and just wait a while before spending it.
but is it actually a crime
to keep something you find?
Yes
still regarded as stealing. not gonna lie

is it illegal to keep it?
I would have probably kept it
Have you not seen No Country For Old Men??
I rest my case.
what would you do with it?
you can hardly take it along to your bank, nor can you go and buy a house and pay with cash. It'd have to live under your bed, with you cramming as much as possible into your wallet every morning
I suppose you could just transfer your entire
salary into your savings account each month and pay for everything in cash, would be alright!
take the money to casino
and launder it. Then place money in bank. score.
Or just start a business and use the money to buy your own stock or something. Tonnes of ways to hide it.
what a fucking idiot.
you could retire on that kind of money!

hmm

take 50 grand
then dump the bag for someone else to find. It will then be their moral dilemma
^ This
wins.
shit, they're advertising american apparel on cbs news now?!
Has no one seen No Country For Old Men?
Picking up bags full of unmarked bills = bad idea.
