There are and have been many amazing bands from the Midlands over the years - the Wonder Stuff, Poppies, Sandkings, Neds being the most obvious, but let's also not forget Six By Seven, Tindersticks, Amusement Parks On Fire, Punish The Atom, Gaye Bykers On Acid, From The Shards Of Comets Bomb Party, Cable, The Telescopes, Editors and more recently Late Of The Pier, Love Ends Disaster, Mint Ive, Lords, Johnny Foreigner, Public Relations Exercise, Her Name Is Calla, Kyte, Model Morning, Mourning Becomes Electra and The Recovery.

It might not be Leeds, Manchester or London but believe me, there's a damn sight more going off in the Midlands than plain old predictable boring ladrock.

I am a PROUD midlander and would disagree massively with wrightylew's ignorant rants (who gives a FUCK about Burnley) although it is true that the three aforementioned bands are midlanders; i personally count west midlands and east midlands as seperate entities, and so whilst i lay claim to johnny foreigner, black sabbath, judas priest, neds, wonderstuff, and napalm death, we have ABSOLUTELY NO connection with fucking Kasabian.

West Midlands is the Best Midlands. Brrrrap.

i like kasabian. a lot. on record they aint that brilliant but live they are amazing. completely agree with the twang and the enemy but they are just industry produced bands trying to hit a demographic (bored 20-something lads) that was first established by kasabian. kasabian got where they are on merit but you cant just lump then in with so truly crap bands because you dont appreciate them. have some respect for real music and stick it to the industry man
