Helio Sequence
i think
yes
this.
i don't know them but who cares, low are playing :D really excited.
http://www.myspace.com/theheliosequence
they are good. plaque good.
They are excellent.
I've been listening to them loads.
nice one!
i'm super mega unbelievably excited about this gig.
i might go back to my teenage years and start queueing up really early so i can sit at the front.
FRONT PEWS FTW
i cannot wait for this gig
:D
I saw them here in 2001
It was stunning.
Me too!
one of my favourites ever for the incredible atmosphere. Also saw them in a church in Brighton - I guess that's their thing. It fucking works!
It doesn't really matter who supports
Once Low start you'll forget them almost entirely.
No really.
But the support band are excellent.
So watch them.
I'm seeing them tonight in Norwich. Yeah!
Well I didn't mean it like thaaaat....
You'll find out what I mean soon enough.
see you there!
*high five*
oh fuck
i had to sell my ticket
cos i won't be in london @-(
go to brighton
join the posse
oh
does anyone have a spare ticket?
So I saw them yesterday evening
and they were very good, didn't play some of the sonsgs I would have wanted, but they did play Dinosaur Act.Their voices are lovely.
Have to say though, The Helio Sequence were the best band of the night. Lush, noisy, danceable, rocking- really, really great.
did they play Sunflower?
.
Disagree
completely. Helio Sequence were ok, every song seemed to turn into a extended instrumental and they took a couple of songs to get going. The drummer was cool though and he had some neat guitar effects but didn't think they were anything too amazing.
Also,
what was the looped riff from on Sandinista? I recognised it but can't place it, they don't seem to have done it on any other live recordings I can find.
I can't remember them playing Sunflower either.
No, I didn't recognise it either.
There were a lot of calls for Sunflower, but they didn't play it.
I really enjoyed the Helio Sequence, and I think my brother who wasn't familiar with either of the bands, thought they were really good.
Was it mainly newer (Drums and Guns-era) stuff?
Was there much in the way of older stuff?
Either way, I'm seeing them in Bristol tomorrow and cannot wait.
More from Drums and Guns.
Cool
Last time I saw them (Dirty Three ATP) it was mostly Drums and Guns stuff, but absolutely amazing. I think the minimalism of that album translates well to the live setting (though it would be great to hear some stuff from Secret Name and Things We Lost...).
Great to hear they're playing Dinosaur Act though!
it was mostly drums and guns
and things we lost in the fire
which suits me down to the ground
that sounds good
anything off The Great Destroyer? I think that might still be my favourite Low album.
I really need a ticket for this!!
helio sequence, as below
i am very excited about this gig, even though it'll be the fourth time I've seen them.
If anyone happens to have a spare...
...please PM me. I would like to go very much. I'm a nice person, honestly.
Retribution Gospel choir
Are you going to see the Retribution Gospel Choir (Lows side project) on the 21st of April at the Water Rats Theatre? If so we are supporting them and we have a batch of cheap tickets (£6 instead of £12 on the door). If you're interested they are for sale through our myspace and website, to all those going to the low gig enjoy, saw low at ATP and they were epic...
cheers
