there's something unreal about sister ray, but the live versions are from a different planet
my least favourite of their albums
I can understand why some people think this was the "real" Velvets and they were pulling their punches on the other albums, but the songwriting just isn't as good. And I don't think they get the balance right between wild and coherent.
Sister Ray frankly could have been seven or eight minutes shorter.
