I love any band that has four bass players.

I hope I'm getting this right. I just got a cd today that came out just over a year ago but it's new to me and I kind of like it.
The band is (I think) !!! and the cd title is "Myth Takes". "Myth Takes" is as wikipedia told me considerd "dance - punk", OK that aside "Myth Takes" is a serious party record if you're in need- and the cover art n fold-out should provide decades of visual fun.

High Recommends! Only #32 on DiS top 50 last year :(

See them live

u will not regret it, the album is magnificant, its 10 times better live

nic offer's dancing

is worth the ticket price on its own!

jeez they dance too?

wicked burn

^ that is exactly why I loved it so much

not to mention the Soul sin ging in the background and relentless tight set

at leeds festival last year

i went and saw them on my own because I though their album was ace (that and the alternatives were The View or Red Hot Chili Peppers). I danced on my own for their entire set. And so did the entire, sadly half full, tun. Which was ace and hahahhahahaha everyone who went to watch RHCP treat their fans to an extended jamming wankery session.

tun?

I don't know how I managed to type that when I meant tent.

I saw them at Reading

the tent was half full but it was the best set of the festival, in fact best live performance I have ever seen, eveyrone there danced NOT A SINGLE static stance present.

And the fact the best live performance I have ever seen was at a festival is saying alot.

it was fucking incredible

all my mates went to see RHCP (yawn) or Hot Hot Heat (who i later heard had some sound issues) so I made the right choice.

EVERYONE (as said ^ there) was dancing. it was special, one of the best festival sets i've seen.

2 of my friends saw Arcade Fire/ Chillis

I opted for Biffy/!!!/HHH

Hot Hot Heat were borrrring so I watched Unkle in the end, but u got to see the whole sets of the above!!

Im glad lots of my friends went to !!!, right at the front center & I was comming up (sorry for people against it but it was just PERFECT)

haha. same here.

i was absolutely off my face. my friends thought i was going mental and tried to drag me out but actually just having the best dancey session of my life.

Thank God for the bouncers handing out water at the front

I woulda died otherwise, couldnt stop moving!

I was at the edge of the tent

with a few non-static, bored looking friends. And I couldn't believe it.
So I danced like I'd never danced before.
Best festival moment.

:D

UNKLE

were brilliant. They always are.

You know

that is quite possibly the worst post, as far as spelling and grammar, as i've ever made on here :/

But yeah they were definitely amazing.

They were brilliant at Leeds agreed

fourth time I'd seen them and it's almost ridiclous how good they are live.

eye WILL see them

oh yes SEE them eye WILL

Saw them in the Glade at Glastonbury

and popped a boner or two...

That was great

the Glade

at Glastonbury set was only the second time i'd Heard them ever.

the first being their set in the Dance village the day before.

blew me away, set of the weekend by far.

^^^^^weird alxmoore....

that was both the first and second time I had heard them as well.
Fucking great fun I had as well!

and me

saw them in the dance village... was blown away and so went back for more in the glade with a box of wine and about 20 friends... was one of my best festival experiences ever. whilst the frontman was amazing, the band are just so tight it makes you want to get down and dirty!

^^^^I was the drunk Glaswegian....

banging into a lot of folk due to both bad dancing and being drunk. So apologies if I banged into you or your friends. I had a fucking ball at both their gigs at Glastonbury!

went to this!

It was so good, danced like a loon! It was incredible, I was devo'd when they finished though, they;d have been mint headliners for that stage.

I'm quite annoyed now i didn't see them at Reading

But more importantly this has made me think, i have no idea what i did on saturday night last year at reading.

I watched Arcade Fire but then didn't fancy any of the main headliners. Wish i went an saw Unkle now, but at the time i don't remember seeing any of the main headliners one little bit on saturday.

I'm quite confused as to what went on.

I saw Shitmat

RESULT

ok

I've now decided to go see them live next month! I wasn't even thinking of going but you people have changed my mind :P

Kings Arms

Auckland NZ!

The played one of the best gigs I've ever seen last year

supporting Maximo Park at Brixton Academy. Nic Offer should be crystallised, frozen, cloned, or at least forced to marry me.

wow.. I'm excited now!

I so did not know that they were this good! And thank god for this thread, I probably wouldn't have decided to go if I didn't read this! hah

Ur probably gonna be in for ur biggest dissapointment of ur life

please refer to social board and bookmark the dissapointment topic for future reference :D

ok

I'll bookmark it just in case ;)

glastonbury

saw them play glasto last year. In the middle of a wooden glen. It was brilliant.

awesome band!

absolutely ace and can't wait to see em live!

I quess

You're supposed to make three typing sounds when referring to them.

great album...

great band!

The Debut

got 10/10 on here I think as well, worth checking out.

amazing band,

especially live. One of the best gigs of 2007 for me.

Oh yeah!

there's more, 3 cd's in all- I'll be ordering those soon- today!

the first one's not great

but Louden Up Now is worth picking up for suuuuuuuure

Louden Up Now

roger that

aah i love this band!

amazing live and probably my number one album of last year!! just brilliant

Same old discussion about !!! BUT...

how do YOU pronounce their name?
Exclamation mark exclamation mark exclamation mark takes too long an produces too much saliva.

me thinks

chk chk chk! (chick chick chick pronounced)

^^^

or any other percussive sound (apparently), though chk chk chk is the preferred one.

Liking them should lead you to Outhud who featured members of !!!. Their Streetdad album is amazing. Saw them at Spitz a few years back, stunning. Can't recommend that album enough.

http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/outhud/streetdad

I have seen it spelled: chk chk chk

so "chick, chick, chick"- I'm guessing, but don't know for sure. And- heard also to make three typing sounds when referring to !!!- who knows, details that hopefully will resolve later.

"chk chk chk"

! is the phonetic symbol for a clicking sound, which i suspect is where the name originates.

They are one of the best live bands about

Saw them twice at Glastonbury (probably the second & third best set after Bjork) and also at reading (dancing for about an hour after feeling completely shattered from Arcade Fire). Brilliant.

Bit disappointed that one of the lead singers left though, he was an absolute loon. Does anyone know if they'll be coming back over here (UK) any time soon. Looking at their american and aussie dates it doesn't seem like they'll be around in festival season. (Big boos)

!!! at Glastonbury last year =

OMG

Absolutely incredible. Perhaps even more incredible was the fact that they managed to get the whole of Koko going crazy a few months back. Amazing live band

Saw them at Sziget last summer.

They were AMAZING.

Feel! It! In! Ten! Si! Fy!

Yeah.

to be fair, at Reading

!!! were part of one of the onlythe killer clashes of the weekend. Arcade Fire, Battles, !!! and Biffy.
I watched a good 20-25 minutes of arcade fire, then most of Battles' set, left before the last song to catch !!! who we're incredible! Gave biffy a miss cos id seen them a few times.

Dont think ive ever danced more in my life. Still listen to Louden up now regularly and doesn't get boring.

I saw the whole Biffy set

then !!!s entire set, the sound for Arcade Fire was terrible! So im glad i left, the Biffy set was intense, the crowd were nuts

oh well

i cant remember the exact clashes times, but those 4 bands all blended with each other so biffy must've clashed with battles then.
But yes i've only heard good things about that biffy set. Looked like an awesome atmosphere.
