And I wanna be like water if I can... (Silver Jews-centric)

...'cause water doesn't give a damn.

I seriously can't stop listening to Bright Flight. American Water didn't really do much for me, and that's mostly down to Malkmus - I love Pavement, but it seems like he just used that album as an excuse to fuck around. Are all his contributions to Joos albums like that (ie: in a bit of a ruining capacity)?

Anyway, Bright Flight is pushing every single button for me right now. Which album should I check out next?

Natural Bridge. it's one album prior to american water & i don't think malkmus was involved. the last two tracks ('the frontier index'/'pretty eyes') are a couple of s.jews best songs.
i think the most recent two albums are also pretty solid, and very easy to pick up/get in to. and GENERALLY, i think that some of the more recent songs are less 'personal', and more character-based/story-telling, but there are still plenty of great lines to unpick, that could only come from great man berman. e.g. "tennessee tendencies, chemical dependencies". see also: 'san franscisco b.c.'
