Who's a going then?

As of last night I AM!!

I don't care that the consensus this year seems to be that it's no good anymore, I've never been before so I'm happy!

I am

and I thought last year was alright despite everything and managing to wander into the Kyte set in the lounge tent on Sunday filled the new discovery quota for me.

It's the opposite of rubbish....

you'll have a killer time, particularly now that THE LEMOMHEADS are playing!!!!

The one year I can't go...GRRRRR!

wow

i feel like i should meet you. yeah?

:(

ok, fair enough.

I'm

stewarding.

^this

i am

but i'll pretend i'm not

I might be

yep

can't wait.

yah

i be going, ennit. swishhhhhhhh.

Truck

can go fuck itself in the barn this year

i might go

maybe....

.

YES PLEASE!

I will be

Truck is my time to see all my friends who I haven´t seen in ages and see all the bands that the music press will be talking about 9 months later.

Last year I didnt even see that many bands. I just had a lovely time with friends and doing arty things.

<3

i have a ticket!

lineup looks really promising. There must surely be more DiSers than this going?

Sure...

why not...

Yarp

We'll be there...

i'm going

clearly. camera obscura! woo etc. i hope fuck buttons play again but i bet they won't.

sadly not

they're doing pitchdork that weekend, along with a load of others who'd have been great at Truck!

I have a ticket

my friends all have free passes, damn.

Fifth year in a row for me!

And I *loved* it last year, so I really don't understand what this backlash is about... Ok, it's got a bit bigger and over twice as expensive as my first time, but it's still *my* favourite festival.

Too many girly asterisks? Thought so...

so yeah i'm going

i was sad last year at not being able to go after it was cancelled. truck 9 was awesome. i don't care too much about the bands, the line-up is never incredible but it's a really fun weekend.

soon!

once all the bands are booked anyway. i'm still struggling for a headliner for our stage.

Not officially

until much nearer the time, going on last year. This is what the contributory worker bees of last.fm reckon for announced acts and self-confirmations so far:

Camera Obscura, Okkervil River, Ulrich Schnauss, The Lemonheads, Asobi Seksu, Robots in Disguise, Television Personalities, Maps, These New Puritans, Frank Turner, Emmy the Great, Neil Halstead, Noah and the Whale, The Early Years, Johnny Foreigner, Jonquil, Le Volume Courbe, This Town Needs Guns, Kyte, Youthmovies, Little Sister, Little Fish, munch munch, Richard Walters, The Coal Porters, Ralfe Band, Fighting With Wire, Ian McLagan & The Bump Band, Lovvers, Orphan Boy, KTB, Rachael Dadd, The Winchell Riots, The Wishing Stones, Danny & The Champions of the World, stornoway, loAd.click.shoot!, Family Machine, Alphabet Backwards, Gabriel Minnikin, Borderville, Holton's Opulent Oog, Antony Elvin, Tristan and the Troubadours, Morrison Steam Fayre

at least

one of those is definitely not playing!

I'll be there...

for Lemonheads and Okkervil River. I hope there's lots of attractive YAHs there for my pal.

hmmmmmmmight

Yep

I'm flying from Jersey to get there, though. Involves a flight that arrives in Gatwick at 8am. Ouch.

Buck better be there, or else.

We need a DiS meetup

disco shed, raving to All Your Base, 3am? Yes yes YESSSS

yeah ok

see you then. bring a football.

On SoSo Modern's myspace

they have a show that says

19th July Oxfordshire TBC

So I guess they play as well.

Looks like it's sold out online

TRUCK FESTIVAL 2008 ADULT WEEKEND TICKET - £60.00
includes camping Saturday & Sunday. Camping is available for Friday night by arrangement if you're travelling from a long distance. Children under 11 are free of charge. Children 11 & over must pay full price.
NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

nope

still onsale. i just bought two tickets in a state of mild panic convinced that rhey'd already gone. cant be many left though i suppose...

sorry!

That was what it said yesterday, I guess there are a few left..

no worries..

it wasn't you that had me worried - the main site has a sign saying '4 ticets left online'.

turns out that's something of a lie.

nice bump anyway

full line up news soon i believe.

sadly we haven't been able to get a lot of bands that we wanted though so don't expect any big names for the barn. they'll still all be ace of course, just no huge names as they're all playing those other festivals the same weekend anyway. bah.

hhhhhhmmmmmmmm

65days say "we’re hoping to play at least one festival this summer, although no one has actually asked us yet (people who organise festivals, what are you thinking?)"
GET ON IT!

haha

i'd never be able to afford them these days, things have changed somewhat in the last few years!

:(

but they were so good in the barn at 9 that someone passed out (and i'm 96% sure it wasn't from the heat!)

i think a lot of people

nearly passed out in there that afternoon, and I'm pretty sure it was the heat (well, coupled with a few hangovers)!

didn't they play the tent last time?

or was that the time before? i find it hard to tell as each year just rolls into the next.

did they play last year?

nope, not that i remember

they played the tent at Truck 8 and in the barn at Truck 9

Hmm

http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/080611d.shtml

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly headlining Sunday; also Laura Marling, Frank Turner, Altern 8 (!), The Nextmen, King Cannibal, Neil Halstead, Eamon Hamilton, Martin Simpson, Yacht, James Rutledge, and a special acoustic set from Dodgy (!!)

Altern 8?!

Srsly?!! Vince Hilarious!

Is this going to be sold out in 4 weeks time?

If not, I'm going!

haha!

apparently not...

I'm going!

Can't wait!

woot!

how many truck threads!

I just won tickets!!!

I have a spare.
EXCITED!

I'm still well excited!

Onlt 45 mins til i leave work (I'm going up there tonight - wise move? Who knows...)

I'M THERE

and just so everyone knows, there's a campaign for every boy going to be sporting a tache.

see here:

or

NO EXCUSES

I already have a tache (a real one)

but it's attached to a beard. Is that ok?

it's frowned upon

but i'm sure you'll eventually be accepted

Yeah i know

Problem is my girlfriend's gonna be at Truck and I haven't seen her in 3 weeks. If I turn up sporting a tache she will literally go ape-shit at me. That's what almost happened last time I did that.

:D

surely worth the risk?

Possibly

I'm consulting an independent, mutual friend of ours to help me with my decision. I'll get back to you.

Apparently there's gonna be a huge game of Beer Pong?

I'm not sure if i have a tache'

thats up for the public to decide!

See you all there! (well prob won't see any of you all there as I don't know what anyone looks like but...)

YAY TRUCK HERE I GO!

I ended up asking her anyway

and here exact response was "don't you fucking dare. Don't, please don't".

So that's a no to the solo mustache. It'll be disguised with a beard. Shame.

*her

Yay Truck!

Truck, truck, truck!

come and dance with the panther girls?

dance lesson in pineys pavilion on Sunday at about 4pm...
come and play

me

just packin'
