70s style. Not too slow or sludgy but the songs are really good. And it has 'Lay My Head Down' on it which is one of the best HM songs I reckon. The second and fourth songs on the myspace http://www.myspace.com/harveymilk are from it.
i guessed that the pikachu-hat wearing girl was claire but wasnt sure enough to say hi.
did the DiS meet-up happen friday night? i was told i met a couple people, but cant remember anything after ten except looking at an exibition with lucyjay from these here boards.
envy and worlds end girlfriend were incredible, as was singing 'holland, 1945' in a chalet with random american/canadian band people at 5am sunday morning
the letter they send out makes it very clear on that point:
"What YOU Need To Provide!
You need to provide your own FOOD, DRINK, WOMEN, TOILETRIES including TOWELS/TOILET PAPER, HAIRDRYERS, and STRAIGHTENING IRONS etc etc."
i love both sites equally, but it was hellish getting back from camber after pitchfork. plus, any crumbs of home comfort accomodation-wise would be gratefully received while in the grip of a harsh english winter.
Am unlikely to return to Camber, whilst there is a mInhead option. However I guess its easier to get bands to Camber due to its proximity to London/airports/ferry ports, rather than what must be a pretty arduous drive to North somerset for most people (not me though - selfish).
and still never found time to go swimming. this is another good reason to hold NBC there.
i think centre stage is my favourite of the five venues, too. big capacity and loads of vantage points. they really need to move that hotdog stand though, the onion stench gets pretty oppressive...
It was great going back for Pitchfork. Smaller, more intimate venues (I'm not really one for bigger stages). No burger king and Pizza Hut - yay! Definately more social of the 2 sites as everone hangs out outside the Queen Vic. Never a queue and really easy to get to the front for any band that plays. + Its the spiritual home of ATP.
But, saying that, I think it'll be at Minehead for more numbers.
You'll be lucky
Swearing to secrecy must be the first part of his initiation.
You'd think
You'd think
...
am guessing it will be Dec 12th, 13th and 14th and Mike Patton will be curating.
Don't quote me on it though - am doing nothing more than conjecturing.
no, Jamie told me it is definitely not Mike Patton
but that it will make me very very excited.
Tom Waits!
Please?
Boredoms

...........................................................
Chunklets 15th Anniversay perhaps??

the Harvey Milk "Courtesy..." chunklet vinyl reissue. :D
\m/
I'm too cheap to buy it again :(
The Pleaser 2LP is available from Chunklet now too.
Tempting
Although I haven't heard it. How does it compare?
It's a rock and roll record
70s style. Not too slow or sludgy but the songs are really good. And it has 'Lay My Head Down' on it which is one of the best HM songs I reckon. The second and fourth songs on the myspace http://www.myspace.com/harveymilk are from it.
Sounds awesome
70s rock & roll? They're good at that too.
Chunklet have something new in the works
not sure they'd curate an ATP though?
OMG if TG play I will die
foreal.
i'd...
love to see Teenage Jesus and the Jerks!
Atari Teenage Riot
I wonder if it's Scott Walker
Last thing I heard about him he was writing an album which would more thsn likely be performed live. Fingers crossed eh?
*than
Unlikely
I love Scott, but I cant imagine he'd pick much that I was interested in.
Nightmare before christmas curators?

Boards Of Canada

i guessed that the pikachu-hat wearing girl was claire but wasnt sure enough to say hi.
did the DiS meet-up happen friday night? i was told i met a couple people, but cant remember anything after ten except looking at an exibition with lucyjay from these here boards.

^this
All festivals should be heavier.
i think it's clear that this festival will slay
well i hope so anyway
Nick Cave
with The Birthday Party
Stop wishing your lives away
Punk Rock
please.
Peaches Geldof
Bjork should curate
I can only think of a few bands that she'd be likely to book, which could make for an unpredictable line up...
^ I've also thought this for a while
I think it would be so eclectic it'd make for a really interesting line up.
$$$$$$$
I decided
Cave In would possibly be my ideal choice even though I know full well that won't happen anytime soon.
SO WHEN DOES IT GET ANNOUNCED?
I'm tearing out my hair in anticipation.
soon young philip
soon
i'm going to wet my self!
we all know what you mean by 'soon', though
and it rhymes with 'mages away'
Is it going to Games Workshop?
Mages Away to headline?
Who's that band with space marines
on their album cover?
And will there be any girls at this ATP?
Arno Corps?
and no.
no
the letter they send out makes it very clear on that point:

Breaking news?...

^
As revealed in this very thread way up there somewhere...
oh
yeah.
oops. i only read the top bit and the bottom bit.
I can't stand it
I need to know if this is in fact true. NOW.
Cause if it was I would absolutely wet myself.
I've just realised it might be my birthday on the friday of this :D
first weekend of decmeber please
They should do a co-curate
with Wire magazine. Or better still get Wire to do the whole damn thing.
Ahhhhh if it was the Melvins...
I could go with another group of friends than this year!
i wanna go!
I think it should be curated by
Emily Eavis.
i think you should curate it
and it could just be a series of silent shows as no one can talk to each other, or something :P
Plan
Could have a charades stage, and maybe a sign language gig in reds or something.
Best get Summers on the case.
good work, i can't wait for that one!
:D
minehead please
i love both sites equally, but it was hellish getting back from camber after pitchfork. plus, any crumbs of home comfort accomodation-wise would be gratefully received while in the grip of a harsh english winter.
and more people can go, of course...
I like Camber
as it was the first place I went to for ATP but Butlins is a better site sizewise and the chalets are nicer. Also the flumes are brilliant!
I love Minehead.
Am unlikely to return to Camber, whilst there is a mInhead option. However I guess its easier to get bands to Camber due to its proximity to London/airports/ferry ports, rather than what must be a pretty arduous drive to North somerset for most people (not me though - selfish).
i've been to three ATPs at minehead now
and still never found time to go swimming. this is another good reason to hold NBC there.
i think centre stage is my favourite of the five venues, too. big capacity and loads of vantage points. they really need to move that hotdog stand though, the onion stench gets pretty oppressive...
this
about the onions is true. although watching the GZA get one of them last NBC was kinda cool
I prefer Camber
It was great going back for Pitchfork. Smaller, more intimate venues (I'm not really one for bigger stages). No burger king and Pizza Hut - yay! Definately more social of the 2 sites as everone hangs out outside the Queen Vic. Never a queue and really easy to get to the front for any band that plays. + Its the spiritual home of ATP.
But, saying that, I think it'll be at Minehead for more numbers.
Ah...the
big ATP sell-out. Of course Camber is better. Bags more atmosphere.
I heard
it was ATP vs Upset the Rhythm, don't know where that came from though...
i highly highly doubt this would be the case
but if it was UTR to curate, that'd be great as high chances are it'd be full of stuff i want to see!
i heard
it was me, al and sim told me so i'll believe them!
