Any love here? I've been playing "Retox" to death recently. Killer tunes, and fucking hilarious to boot.
Great, great live band too....

Brilliant before they reformed
Not terribly sure anymore.
T in the Park..
5 or 6 years ago they played (when it was still decent) probably only bettered by underworld the whole week end. any new tunes on the way?
It's a gamble seeing them live too
I remember seeing them in a tent in Reading a few years ago and it was amazing....then whenever I've seen them play since it's been pushing average at best.
Not really a Main Stage band
Saw them playing the Main Stage at Leeds three years ago - they were pretty average then. Every other time I've seen them has been in a small venue/festival tent, and they've been mind blowing! Euroboy >>>>> any other lead guitarist you care to name
I love Ass Cobra, Apocalypse Dudes and Scandinavian Leather
but, haven't heard the more recent stuff.
Worth checking out?
Oh and yes, brilliant live, obviously.
Less death-punk
...more straightforward G'n'R type classic rock, is probably how I'd describe their last couple of albums.
Hank's singing style has changed pretty drastically too. That'll be the copious amounts of drugs, then.....
The new album especially, tends to..um...how shall I say...wear it's influences proudly on it's sleeve. Ok...they basically rip off quite a few well known songs. But the charming thing is exactly how brazenly they go about doing this. It's more or less "Here's a famous riff you all know - and here's the new song we've welded it to!". Examples: "I Wanna Come" from the new album lifts the riff straight from Danny Says by The Ramones, and the chorus melody of "We're Gonna Drop The Atom Bomb" is basically "You Could Be Mine". There are loads more examples too.
I thought they peaked with
apocalypse dudes and then scandinavian leather. I liked them when they were a little bit classic rock, but not too much like they are now. I think the weirdest crush I have ever ever had was when I had a crush on Euroboy. I was convinced he was staring at me at one gig but I think I just wanted to believe that.
Euroboy
He's not too well at all, apparently. They had to cancel their entire US tour recently, due to a mystery longterm illness :-(
