This makes me very VERY happy. It's like the exact opposite of Beverley Hills lyrically - laden with snarky comments etc - as played by the Pinkerton era band.

kind of somewhere between Pinkerton and Green, which is fine by me. Thing is, they'll never recapture the giddy adolescent thrill of Blue because they're international superstars now rather than geeky kids in a garage, but it's great to see they can still write good pop songs.

as I was really expecting it to be utter shit.

There's a make believe vibe on there (those chunky fat riffs and solos belting out all over the place) but the vocals are the best they've been since Pinkerton and that Weezer kookyness is back in action and not in a Beverley Hills sorta way.

if you want a good quality rip of this, you might want to check some of the torrent sites. Can't say for certain, because obviously I don't involve myself in that sort of thing, but I've got a hunch you might say something. Don't know why you'd want to though. I've had another couple of listens and I've decided it's shit.

It's definitely horrible, even having cranked the high quality version.

The lyrics are terrible, just vague meandering with some sort of possible-meta-bitching about being in a band.

The rest of it seems completely phoned in, a lazy chugalong that just sort of farts itself out of existence at the end.

I'd say it's their Masses Against the Classes, but it's not even that good. And it sounds like Pinkerton? Get te fuck it sounds like Pinkerton. Jesus we all desperately want Weezer to put out something half decent but this is not it.
