I'm getting;

'Some tracks you submitted have not been added to your profile for the following reason: Spam protection triggered: You submitted a track dated earlier than your last submission.'

What have i done?!

I wouldn't worry

I've been getting that message all the time for about the last week but everything seems to be updating OK. last.fm has been acting like a twat in general recently.

i don't know

but i've done the same thing. every time i see that little red sign i want to punch the screen.

me too

also it tells me my iPod has nothing new to scrobble. Bstards :(

^^

have you synced your ipod player to your lastfm recently? Lastfm gets confused when i do that sometimes, because the times sometimes overlap and it freaks out.

i'm getting that as well

goddamn last fm. it hasn't updated mine for 2 days! dunno why, my plug in is on and everything. hmm.

i get that when i'm listening to stuff on the last.fm player

and on winamp about the same time. if you're not doing anything like that, it's just getting a bit confused, and should be fine.

Ah.

Maybe it doesn't understand when iTunes is paused too.

i've been getting it to

but i've not noticed any not tracks being recorded.

Basically, we tightened up our song submission 'spam' filters a bit, so if you're client sends the same song twice (at the same time), we ignore one version.

you definitely shouldn't be losing any songs. the box is fucking annoying though, i think we're trying to make it less gash.

hrmmm....

and yet more so lately, i am getting double entries... for the exact same song and time... just appearing twice in my recent plays list. so the spam filter seems to be worse not better, cos i have never noticed this until the last week or so....

yeah, it's certainly not working as well as it should

rest assured there are people looking in to it as we speak.

Is your computer clock set okay?

Do you see a Spam protection message?
As per the above question, go to your profile and look in the same spot, and check for the text, Spam protection triggered: You submitted a track dated earlier than your last
submission. Do you see this message?

Yes: Please correct your time and date, and also ensure you're not running multiple music players simultaneously, from multiple machines.
No: Please see the next question.

Do you have a firewall or anti-virus set up?
You may need to ask your System/Network administrator about this one, but try to find out if you're running either of these. A common place to look would be the icons that are alongside your computer's clock.

Yes: Either disable them, or set them up to allow "lastfm.exe" to have access to the internet.
No: Please see Section C.

Of course, far be it from me to suggest you'll get better answers from Last.FM's Client Support Forum.
