Bands that are 100% awesome so it doesnt matter where you start

Ignoring new bands

So no Fleet Foxes or owt
but

hmmmm
well, it was to be kind of a joke but it's tricky innit, all my faves have an Around The Sun, a Never Let Me Down or a Pablo Honey somewhere

Husker Du
Smiths
PJ Harvey....?

hmmmmm.....

Bah!

This was going to be my daily Fleet Foxes post.
So i'll go Boards of Canada.

The Velvets

didn't drop the ball.

Squeeze doesn't count.

Bjork?

she doesn't have any real turkeys in her collection.

White stripes and Pavement maybe as well. Although it is pretty hard, I'm not that keen on Meat is murder and Uh huh her of those you said. Don't know much of Husker Du.

I lika bjork

but
there are, if not some turkeys, then some albums with way to much weeeeeeeee and not enough woooooaaah

white stripes yeah mebbe
no full on honks but mucho filler

uh huh her is indeed non solid but deffo not fit for the Xmas table

meat is murder is not my fave smiths album but it is a stunning piece of work, no?

I guess meat is murder is OK

but in comparison to the others, I would say it doesn't come close. Similarly with Uh huh her. I someone picked those up and hadn't heard anything else, they would probably wonder what the fuss is about, in comparison to them picking up say Is this Desire or Hatful of Hollow.

Meat is Murder

is my favourite Smiths album, though that's only just become fact. It took about 23 years. Give it time, haha.

ASMZ

New Pornographers

godspeed

mogwai

Neu

(if you don't count the semi-bootleg 4 and Live albums)

Stooges until they went and ruined it with The Weirdness.

Bark Psychosis
Gillian Welch

Then there's a few acts who are consistent but maybe didn't fully hit their stride until album 2 or 3, e.g. Comets on Fire, Labradford, Six Organs of Admittance

Lift To Experience

Though they only guarenteed 100% by calling it quits.

At The Drive-In

are the only band where my favourite album is the one I'm listening to at that moment.
