Amazing, right? I just got 'Archive' on the basis that they were compared to Cats In Paris. Sure enough, they do not sound entirely unlike a version of Cats In Paris with guitars. The drumming style is particularly similar.

Amazing indeed

One of my favourite bands of all time, first saw them in the late 80s and have been hooked ever since. Still going strong too - the Astoria gig last November was incredible.

Simply buy anything you can get your hands on!

they were pretty good

I used to have Songs for Ships and Irons on tape but I have lost it moving houses and its now "out of print". :(

Rereleased last year

But only through the bands website...,. http://www.cardiacs.com/merchandise/recordings/

RULE.

I love

Dog Like Sparky
Burn Yr House Brown :)

Had a bit of a Cardiacs session yesterday

A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window is the one for me, though everything i've heard is pretty amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNdnOTvGbJQ&feature=related This isn't recommended if you are of a nervous disposition, but if you've never heard or mores to the point seen Cardiacs then this may kindle your interest or make you hide behind your sofa. Ah, the madness!

I seem to remember thinking Ooberman had tried to rip them off

but in a good way. Maybe that's 'homage'?

Anyway, check out Ooberman.

Big influence on Blur too

They played at the Mile End gig.

Beyond amazing

I love this band very very much.

There's a gig at the Astoria in November, which has become something of a tradition. Sometimes they add a few regional dates nearer the time, sometimes not.

incredible stuff

seen them support the wildhearts in glasgow a few years back, thought my mind had collapsed. so good live!

One of the greatest bands to

ever walk the earth. As mentioned above the Astoria gig last November was excellent and more to the point as good as when I first saw them back in 1986.
