until Wednesday. God bless 4 day weekends.
Chelsea keep their title hopes alive with a 1-0 win at Goodison Park last night. Michael Essien with the goal - his 2nd in 2 games.
Manchester United can increase their lead again to 5 points if they beat Blackburn at the weekend whilst Pompey can move to within a point of Everton in 5th if they beat Man City at Eastlands. Other games of note include Fulham taking on Liverpool, Bolton travelling to Middlesbrough and of course the Birmingham derby at Villa Park.
Big games in the Championship include Barnsley hosting Leicester at Oakwell, Sheffield Wednesday travelling to Blackpool and Coventry travelling to already relegated Colchester. Watford take on Crystal Palace and Stoke host Bristol City in the 2 big games at the top of the table.
Carlisle take on Southend in League 1, Leeds travel to Millwall and Doncaster travel to Leyton Orient. Forest meet already doomed Luton Town to try and strengthen their grip on a play off spot.
MK Dons can win promotion my avoiding defeat at Stockport tomorrow, Peterborough can join them if they beat Hereford. Darlington host Chesterfield whilst at the bottom Wrexham must beat Notts County to have any hope of avoiding the drop.
Lewes can sew up the Conference South title against Dorchester tomorrow whilst Hendon have to win at Staines to keep their play off hopes alive.
I'll post the rumours later when I get into work. In the meantime, get the fuck out of bed!!!
I've been out of bed for an hour!
Everton-Chelsea was one of the worst games of football ever. I'm surprised the players didn't just get bored and wander off
Is that not what happened?
are thursday night premier league matches
going to become a regular thing for TV, in light of last night's match? i know it's a pretty bad idea to a lot of people, but does anyone have an inkling?
NO
Football = Saturdays and Wednesdays
Eagles to secure playoffs with win this weekend - come on the Palace

As a Chelsea fan
even I am starting to get fed up with games in which we only have a single shot on target- not because it is boring (although God knows it is) but because it is a bloody foolish way of trying to win a football match. Any opponent can score a goal out of nothing and then you are stuffed (see the Wigan result).
Grant says he wants to play better football, but we are as impotent as an empty scrotum. We aren't even trying to shoot, just pass the ball about until the ref blows the final whistle and puts everyone out of their misery. Mourinho's team may have ground out results, but not like this.
And for fuck's sake will someone buy SWP? He's a bloody disgrace.
As promised...
a bit of rumourmongering.
Chelsea will pay £50million for Kaka whilst Milan will replace him with Ronaldinho for a cool £22million.
Brazilian striker Amauri is a target for Arsenal.
If Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes became available then Mark Hughes has said he would be first int he queue for the pair.
Pompey want to sign Lisandro Lopes from somewhere for £12million.
Sheffield United want to sign Wes Hoolahan from Blackpool.
Deadly Ledley King could leave Spurs in the summer due to his injury record.
i can't believe how retarded some newspapers are
do we honestly think that Milan are going to let Kaka go, ever? Well?
^ This
Unless Kaka really wanted out and I can't see that happening
Forest don't need to beat Luton to strengthen their grip
on securing a play-off spot - Walsall's defeat on Tuesday night meant we were mathematically guaranteed a Top 6 finish.
I stand corrected..
Ramos
surely won't sell Ledley will he? :(
...apparently so if he can't prove his fitness...
This would be SO wrong...
We all know he is a great centre back
but what use is he if he can only play one game in 5?*
*He'll end up at us.
knarked that the birmingham derby isn't on the box
but never mind. Everton vs Villa next week is a massive game if Villa win on sunday.
Lewes have already printed
Champions t-shirts for tomorrow. Tempting fate somewhat? Apparently there will be a typical Lewes firework display if we win. Excited? I am wetting my pants. It better not rain.
I have given up with Everton. We'll be lucky to finish 7th with no Cahill, Arteta or Osman.
Latest Leeds rumours

Would be an absolute farce if true...
situations like this
and the Sheffield United legal case last year really test my love of the game sometimes.
If Leeds were to win the case
at that stage of the season the long term effects for English Football could be devastating, as all summer you'd have lawsuits flying backwards and forwards from other clubs who'd (rightly) feel hard done by. The likes of Wrexham who've never recovered from their 10 point deduction 3 years ago while in League 1, Rotherham, who've lost 20 points in 2 seasons, Boston United, relegated 2 divisions for exactly the same misdemeanour as Leeds and further down the leagues, Northwich and Scarborough, both of whom were harshly treated by the FA at the time.
...apparently are signing another one of your youngsters...
Bostock or something...we'll probably give you some new footballs for him...
*apparently SPURS...
The photo of Bates in that article
unbelievably makes him look like more of a cunt. Thats a difficult thing to do
COMEDY JESTER TIME

I don't think anyone's gonna be devastated by that one.
.
avram grant is a strange one...
http://tinyurl.com/65zpy9
(sorry about it being daily mail)
Is that his post match interview?
That was megalolz.
that's one of the best things i've ever read
super points to Avram Grant. sure sure, if people did it all the time it'd be shit etc etc blah blah, but this is just funny. i suddenly like Avram Grant a whole lot more. i really hope it was being filmed and it's up on youtube...
MR CHARISMA
he's ace, in his own way. I wanna see him and KK interviewed side by side.
strangest football story of the day by a looooong way
http://tinyurl.com/445z4t
I had two things to say today, but I can't remember one of them.
I know the second was: Dimitar Berbatov's agent is the single most destructive and loathsome individual with anything to do with the game in this country.
The first was probably about whether I'm the only person in Britain who doesn't give a flying turd about the Liverpool story and that I wish TV and papers would shut up about it, but I can't remember.
I purposely don't
bring the Liverpool story into these threads because
a) it's boring
and
b) I couldn't give a flying fuck.
And I agree about Berbatov's agent. He makes Willie McKay look like a moral god.
I'm a Liverpool fan
And I agree. Fucking sick of it. This shit probably goes on all the time at large clubs, but normally ignorance is bliss for the fans.
Today the times seems to think we're going to have to sell Torres and Babel at the end of next season if we don't pay back a loan used to finance their purchase. Somehow, as messed up as they are I don't think the board would let go of probably the one player whose considerable talent is keeping the fans subdued.
Every morning I wake up and see some new glob of mud slung by one of the yanks. Either Hicks needs to buy up and do what he proposed he'd do yesterday, or they both need to get lost and sell up.
