I got to admit
it was pretty darn good!
I'm probably going to be lyched here.
But no, it really wasn't. Flaky set list, fucking techno techno techno shit with strobe lights (although I liked the lights), the audience was full of absolute twats.
Biggest complaint was probably the set list. Half of it bored me to tears and I nearly walked out twice.
The good stuff was GREAT but the bad stuff was barely even tolerable.
I will not pay that sort of cash to see her again unless she has an orchestra and/or choir, which I think is probably when she's at her very best because beautiful strings compliment her voice so well.
So yeah. MEH.
Nice to see Anthony from Anthony & The Johnsons briefly; he looks exactly like the bumbling giant you'd expect :)

I have to admit too, I've definitely seen her be better live than that - I mean, the good bits were AMAZING, the other bits were a bit meh.
Don't get me started about twats - we had blokes behind us going 'oi oiiiiii!' in an un-ironic way, and women have a chat in front of us.

I got the feeling a lot of people were there for the techno-rave type stuff I was talking about before. Exactly the same happened at Goldfrapp; get a few stomping tracks and you end up with an audience composed 50% music lovers and 50% people who can afford to pay £40 to have a chat with their mates and then dance through the two songs they know.
I 'had words' with a couple of guys behind me during Pagan Poetry and they looked absolutely astounded - afterwards they tried to argue with me and tell *me* that I'd been a bit rude. Haha. Stupid twats. I'd been quite polite for me, I didn't even swear at them.
And yes, it was about five or six on the set list. It was three or four on Monday night from what I saw; I started to panic that she wouldn't play it!

Saw her in August at Connect and she was STUNNING, so my memories from that are best kept preserved.

plays the kora.
She did play Pagan Poetry and it was the highlight of the evening.
Overall I thought it was a pretty solid set, but not mind blowing. I enjoyed it more than when she played Glastonbury, which was more or less the same setup and backing band, but this version of Bjork seems to work better in the confined space of an indoor venue.

my fave live video is vessel where she's playing all the stuff of debut and it has a bit of a big gay party atmosphere on it.
i went on monday and i admittedly would've preferred less stuff of volta and i don't think she played anything from vespertine which was a bit annoying but i still thought it was really good fun.

Army of Me and Hyperballad's last 3 minutes were ace.
Friends who also went on Monday said it was basically identical, which made me happier.

seems the only thing not identical to Monday was the inclusion of Pagan Poetry.
Which annoys me 'cos it would have made Monday so much more memorable.
Toumani was amazing still, and of course the Hyperballad/Freak combo is inspired. But it could have done with being louder.

I was up in the seats and there were no twats near me luckily (less twats in the seats generally) and I got to enjoy the light show in full. Standing at Portishead last week at Hammersmith, there were a fair few twats around me.

I don't understand
the complaints about the "techno" or "techno-influenced" aspects of the set - they're her songs and that's how they were written.
It's like someone going to see Iron Maiden and saying "rubbish set - it was all heavy metal shit"... It's not like she mutilated her own songs and did a techno version of Unravel or anything!?!
I thoght the set was great (although unfortunately missing the afore mentioned Unravel), her performance was captivating, her voice was incredible, the lights and visual props were great, the band sounded excellent... I was upstairs and spared of any "twats"... personally, I can't find anything to complain about.

When Hyperballad went techno it was absolutely incredible.
I think Army of Me was mind-blowing. I don't think I've ever been as stimulated visually and sonically by one song before. Wow.
There were a couple in the set list I'd have changed but you get that with everyone with a large back catalogue. Didn't have any problems with there crowd near the front apart from twats with cameras making the bouncers shine torches, but I did hear a few city muppets on the way back to the tube.

was Mark Bell. Get Freak by LFO as this was the track that Hyperballad cut into.

That track got the most applause at Glasto before the sound went (Glad i didn't get a ticket to see the same set again). Is there any reason why she is playing an LFO track?

Well it works really well anyway
everyone in the crowd started throwing themselves all over the place.
It was a similar set to Glastonbury, although there was no Antony there, but it was still definitely worth going to. The sound was much better for a start and you get much closer. Anyway, that set last year was the best thing I saw all year and if I see anything better than last night this year it'll be pretty special.
I don't doubt it would be woth it but just
not too gutted missing out as i'm not exactly the biggest fan.
Still though why Freak? c'mon boffins lets really bang our heads together here!

IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING. All the "techno" stuff was brilliant, awesome to dance to, and she looked like she was having an absolutely awesome time. Set list was AMAZING, even when she played 'declare independence' at the end (which i don't particularly like on record) it was immense. Pagan poetry was gorgeous, and army of me was AMAZING.
I'd definitely pay that much to see her again. i <3 bjork. and her ace rainbow dress.

Definitely the best gig I've ever been to, Army of Me was astonishing - the best start with Wanderlust + that fire effect! Left me with goosebumps and sore limbs from a lot of dancing at the end!!
