This is the last great album that's been released
(for me anyway), even though it must be almost 2 years old.
It was a massive step up from the debut and I can't wait for the next one. I really hope it comes out this year.

though I still reckon it fades towards the end. Might just listen to it again and see if I don't disagree with myself.

I think the second half is better than the first. Don't really get why people love Province so much, as much as I love Bowie, I think it is probably the weakest track on there.

Yeah, but If I am listening to a few different cd's
and not listening to the whole of each album, say, playing 3 or 4 from each album - Province will be the first choice.
A better way to put it is, if I was djing and I had to pick a track from the album, it would be Province.

i was a lover is the perfect opener and province is mindblowing and the drumming on playhouses amazes me every time and blues from down here is just sublime.
Cookie Mountain
was a disapppointment after the first album. Still decent though.
I really like this album...
but there's just something about it that stops me loving it. It might be that it lacks a bit of feeling (or maybe i should say pathos cos physically i feel it) for me in places. None of the lyrics really strike a chord with me, or are very memorable, which is strange cos i love the vocals, but i don't find them drawing my attention to the words. In this sense I find it has similarities with the Yeasayer album (also in terms of production too).

Took me ages to get into it, I use to just skip to Wolf Like Me, but now the whole album just blows my mind. The production is just so fucking dense and thick, i love it. Also love the vocals, melodies, lyrcis etc. i.e. everthing. iPod + This Album make my fortnightly shops at tesco a fucking dream!

I'm playing this album for the first time for about a year and a half. I did like it then, especially Wolf Like Me, Province etc... but playing it now it is just immediately jumping out at me, stunning me at every turn. Funny what a little bit of time can do!
